hello friends,
i hve bought bsnl 3g data card and teracom 7.2 mbps instrument..
i m having prepaid plan of 6 months validity for 4200/-.
I m having a problem with 3G disconnecting every 400 MB..
can u show me some solution for that...

At the time of, or before disconnection, check the heat of the device by holding in ( gripping with ) your palm. Whether it is tolerable or not. Are you using USB extn cable or not ?

@joshiparas : mate ! the most probable cause for disconnections is heat. Try it out in a cool room and you will hardly have any or few disconnections. But if a cool room is not an option, you might want to suspend using the data card for some time and then start using it again.

I am too having this issue. I am not sure whether it's due to continuous download or heat. I am using Ubuntu as main OS and created a shell script that reconnects the device if it goes down.

@ramli7, can you confirm Hauvei devices have this issue or not?

Only Saturday I got my Huawei K4505 ( 28.8Mbps ) card. Yesterday I could not have full signal strength. Only today I got the normal signal strength.

Approximately tested for 4 hours download ( 2.5 Mbps to 3.5Mbps speed ). No disconnection due to overheat. I have to do some more tests. Within 2 or 3 days I will post full details in another thread. So far I haven't seen any Huawei users complaining of disconnection due to over heat.

As said above hold the card ( gripping ) in your palm momentarily, when you doubt about it. If you grip the card for a few more minutes, the signal to the card will be blocked and hence the speed and heat will be reduced considerably.

So hold the card only a few (10 - 15 ) seconds to feel the heat. If the heat is not tolerable, there should be some problem.

If you are having digital multimeter you can measure the heat. Around a maximum of 75*C is permissible. ( Sierra AC 306 withstands up to 82*C )

i have same problem

this is not happen by heat but its problem of bsnl

i change 3 modem, i try on 7 computer, i also use it on my c7

and its disconnected every 402 mb.

is there any solution for this?

ohhh... people note so many minuet things... very nice find friend..

even was happening with me while i was in home... 350- 450mb or sometimes even 800-1000mbs and it disconnected on similar basis..
