3g usb modem error: connection failed: error 633

I have recently got a HSDPA usb modem (Global wireless usb modem 7.2Mbps) with a BSNL 3g sim.

I have added the following settings in the software,
APN: bsnlnet
Dial number: *99***1#
PDP type: IP
obtain DNS server automatically: selected this
obtain PDP address automatically: selected this
username: <empty>
password: <empty>

After this if I try to connect, it says, Connection Failed, error: 633.

Please help me to configure this and connect to the internet.

FYI, the sim is valid and has the data access limit too of 500GB. I have used this sim in my mobile, it all works like a charm. And I bought this 3g usb modem from dealextreme site.

Try the dialing number *99#

check talktime bal. keep min bal Rs7

check for coverage also

Problem : Error 633: The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly.

When did this happen : Trying to connect to a network using D Link DWM 156

Cause : It seems one of the cause could be that a previous installation of a network software (another isp data card, eg tata photon, other dial up connections using the same port for the modem etc, eg nokia pc suite modem)

Solution :

1. Un-install all other network related softwares (like other isp data card installations)
2. Uninstall other softwares that could have installed virtual modems across com ports - like nokia pc suite etc
3. Delete the drivers related to the softwares in the previous steps
4. Restart
5. See if it works

It worked for me.

if this is happening only during evening hours, ignore it, its because of BSNL server. Even I get same message and am unable to connect during evening and night, during day time it gets connected.

Earlier I was getting some other error messages, solution was only to reformat my laptop....

Hi, It's sinmply because 'Telephony' might got turned off in your PC. To turn ity on, follow the link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/330163 or search Google for Error 711. Follow as directed in Microsoft page. Your modem will dial up in no time I found this out the hard way!

Sometime its BSNL server issue. Try during day ttime
