Data Plan is Activated or not???

Hi,

I brought a 3G sim (in Guntur - AndhraPradesh) for 59rs and recharged it with 120rs. I got some 150rs talktime and 6 months validity.(I read in the forum that we will get only 20rs talktime ).
I have ordered a 3G data card on ebay and I am yet to receive that. So I cant test this sim with a data card now.
Now I want to recharge my 3G sim with 4200rs for 6 months unlimited plan, since tomorrow will be the last date for that offer.

Is there any way to know that whether the Data Plan is Activated on my BSNL 3G sim?? I am afraid that my 4200rs recharge would come as talktime instead of data recharge if my data plan is not activated yet.

I got my 3G SIM recharged with Rs.2500, I confirmed it with the BSNL rep, It does not matter if you have 3G SIM for Voice or data you can recharge it with 2500 data plan. After 2 Hrs of recharge I plugged the SIM in my Huawei E1550 modem and tried connecting... but I get an error, Error No #777, The modem or the remote computer is not functional. I am not sure if it takes time to get the pack activated. I received a message that the recharge succefull for Rs 2500, Balance Rs.0. I am trying to call CC but the CC no 9400024365 seems to be down since last 2 days. I am afraid, I might not end up losing Rs.2500.

Hi, There are two ways to activate BSNL data plans (*in Maharashtra)
1] Goto BSNL centre and ask them appropriate RECHARGE vouchers (recommended: for FIRST TIME users)
OR
1] visit to portal.bsnl.in
2] register first & do Login
3] goto PrePaid Mobile section
4]under Data Vouchers Applicable for 3G Customers
5] choose-->3G DATA RECHARGE VOUCHERS (Applicable for all the 3G Customers Only)
6]enter Mobile no & click Submit
7]but you can only recharge these amounts 275,440,606,716,1102
4200 amount is NOT available and may be its offer(6 months too)

NOTE: BSNL is NOT maintaining sessions properly (*lazy programmers)so sometimes it may ash you LOGIN again, So do login.

With the help of portal.bsnl.in site, you can
-Recharge/Topups for 2G/3G
-pay Landline bills too
but cant
-recharge GPRS plans

topup your VOICE balance (recommend:Rs55), dont keep Rs 0 balance otherwise (sometimes, I observed) you cant connect to server bcoz server refuses your connection.
AND
maybe server is down at that time
keep trying n trying!!!

Hi abhitp,

Thanks for your suggestion. I recharged it with Rs.10 and I got connected. I was not sure if it was the Data Plan or the recharged amount it was using. So I downloaded a file and disconnected it. Checked the balance and found it was intact. Lesson Learnt: Never Leave a 0 balance.

*234# to check internet balance if you have recharged with any data vouchers.
