Default I am shocked that BSNL 2500 and 4200 plan gone Now what is the best PLAN?

I have purchased bsnl 3g in jan and since then enjoyed the browsing. Although faced some issues but they are bearable for 2500 and 3 months unlimited. My 3 months plan ended today and I went to RECHARGE my SIM. But to my very unpleasant surprise all the plans are changed now. There is no unlimited plan. Now I am feeling that BSNL has cheated me. I felt these offers are going to stay live forever but they have changed the price. If I knew that bsnl will change the price I would have gone with 4200 plan in january so that I could have enjoyed the service for 6 months. I see few guys writing on this forum that bsnl has changed the plans because they are suffering huge loss. But I believe and I have been analysing the same thing with BSNL for the past few years. For instance they came up with bsnl evdo card for rs 250 unlimited and in a couple of months the price raised to 750 and that time everyone said that Reliance has launched its services and they don't want competition in their field and if BSNL provides the service for so cheap Reliance has to do the same so they bribed the BSNL HODS to change the tariff plans. And I think the same thing has happened now. BSNL guys were bribed to change the plans. Otherwise how can they raise there plans to more than double?

I am very much confused now what plan to opt for. You guys please advise me a good plan or advise me a service provider so that I can find the better service at good price. I am thinking to change to MTS because as I keep switching from karnataka to AP MTS is also at my place in Karnataka and at 999 unlimited i think it is not a bad idea. But not sure about their speed. Can you tell me how is their service.

MBLAZE was launched in warangal last month but i
don't know HOW GOOD THE SERVICE IS

Just ask them to give demo so that you can draw conclusions, 999 for unlimited ( i think it has FUP ) is a good deal becoz you are a frequent Traveler. Cross check whether they have roaming charges or not.

    FUP : 3.1 mbps for 15 GB later 144 kbps ( 999 plan ) ? Is this real ?

3G not cheap as if now.

Yes i do accept BSNL guys were bribed to change their plans by private operators.

Red face I think its 12GB

I am using MBLAZE in Chandrapur and it gives good speeds, network is awesome, but when i contacted customer care asking the details about 999 plan, then i came to know about two things. Number 1. Its not 15 GB its 12Gb and number 2, its a limited period plan not a permanent plan.

    Talking MTS Emblaze

MTS- if you have good signal it will give around 1 mbps max. My neighbour is using it. Roaming is trouble some.(if you travel often)
In my personal experience Tata and Reliance ( we have both in our house) offers seamless roaming.
MTS -12 Gb @ rs 999 is in the same bracket as tata photon -10 Gb Rs1200 (both these are good with pre paid). and Reliance netconnect 10 Gb Rs 1000+ ( Net connect better with post paid-all corporates are giving reliance Net connect only)
CDMA signal is always better in side the house comapred to 3G /Gsm.
For example 0.7 Mbps Tata photon better browsing inside hotel room/house compared to BSNL 3G@ 3mbps!
So cdma (above 3 operators)2G @ Rs 999/1200 (12 GB) is just marginally cheaper than Rs 1500-15Gb by BSNL.!
BSNL -3G signal is truly available every B class town in India(with break downs quite often)
There is no 3g or even 2G for Rs 700 per month any more except
BSNL EVDO is Rs 750 but you get max 500 kbps only in that.
So unless you travel often and need mobile broadband, may be ADSL BB + wireless router by reliance or BSNL is value for money . ( Rs 1000-1400 for 20 GB)

I am going to MTS office today will find out how is the demo speed and then decide. Also the factor that I need only SIM CARD because I already have a 3g device. Not sure if they will provide that.

MTS-If you have good signal the speed is about 1.5-2.5 Mbps Download speed often crosses 300K on IDM and always above 250Ks in good torrents. Latency is very low as compared to other providers. Sometimes Below 100ms.
Upload speed is also good, and customer care is supportive as per my experience is concerned

MTS works on CDMA EVDO modem that is different from 3g, i am not sure if they provide an EVDO SIM or not and even if they did you wont be able to use it with a 3g device as you metioned

I am presently using normal aircel 2g sim on my 3g modem since yesterday from the time bsnl subscription is over. So I think MTS sim also should work on my data card.

Dheeraj you mean the MTS sim cards don't work on my 3g data cards?

The thing is I have purchased this usb modem from a online store and while selling the seller told me it supports all the sim cards and all the technology.

Please tell me if MTS sim cards wont work on my data card?

Also for those who are using limited plans including Dheeraj I guess you are using 2.5gb plan from aircel now, is it enough? I mean 2.5 gb is for browsing and downloading?

Oh guys i just came to know the 3g data cards doesn't supports the evdo technology may be i should stick with bsnl atm. I am going to recharge with 606 plan of bsnl and lets see how my usage works.

YES they don't work, MTS doesn’t have any sim cards for internet.

    Source: mts office wgl

Many sellers online have listed that you can use only GSM 2g/3g sim in unlocked data card.

I believe 2.5 GB on aircel 3G is enough for browsing but not for downloading.

It may differ from user 2 user. For me 1.5 GB is enough for browsing for a month, I will recharge with 92 pack on last date of validity and my remaining data will be carry forwarded to next month.

    And i don’t use aircel 3G regularly
I primarily use VODAFONE ( edge 236 kbps) 98 pack ( 6 GB) for 30 days, browsing is OK 2 me on VODAFONE and if i feel it’s too slow i will go for aircel 3G….. adding to that I still have 3 GB left in night usage & 150 MB day usage left on my BSNL 3G sim.

I went to MTS office wgl ( just walkable distance from my home) to know data plans and their speeds. They said MBLAZE PREMIUM usb modem will cost 1800 ( including device + FRC) and for that you will unlimited internet at 3.1mbps for first month , speed breaker after 12 GB .

They said they don’t provide any MTS sim in usb modem for internet , but it has got a SIM SLOT along with memory card slot.

@ nippuankush Any idea why sim slot is for ?

Mblaze is getting speeds in between 1.5- 2 mbps according 2 him, and he said 8 people have already purchased usb modem yesterday at my place.
