Question 98 voucher in 3g sim

Is it possible to activate 98 for 2gb in 3g sim, I'm ok if I get 2g speed only.

You can do it, Because BSNL has same default gateway for both 2G and 3G. Speed will be limited for you as soon as you recharge with 2G package. You'll get 15-20KBPS download speed .....

Browsing had been pathetic in a case when you have low signal strength. I've tested DOCOMO and Airtel 3G too.. Docomo is slighty better, the only benifit you can get is more data in lesser price (2G plans).. and using 3G plans u'll get better speed in whatever operator you choose..

i had dsl with them, no problems.. i am using bsnl since cafes and dialups...

that depends on your place.. and it is network dependant..

Its not about BSNL Broadband.. I know it works fine i do have that and speeds are awesome. But we are Talking abt 3G here... I know there is too much load on that, not becoming sufficient for so many uses. BSNL 3g users are more then combining all operator 3G users together...

is it really?? how many 3G user base does bsnl have right now??

because i see most people use mobiles for modeming.. thats edge..
yes... bsnl is giving good speeds to edge plan users too.. too much loads.. and their infrastructure is also not very updated like doco or bharti etc..

considering the fact that BSNL is the 1st 3G service provider as it launched 3G services in 2009 and has it coverage across india after that Bharti which just now has started there services for 11 circles. No doubt BSNL cant compete with Bharti or either Docomo. Docomo is Japan NTT based company, and they have improved DNS resolvers and cache servers... BSNL has to do a lot in terms if they gotta provide best service.. 6K post might be a award wining achivement to you.... Guinness People are chasing you.. Cheers!

i completely agree with gauravgtm ,bsnl needs to improve there technical infrastructure. one news i have heard in this forum 5-6 months back, that bsnl
will upgrade all there 3g networks to 14 mbps, but as i know it is upgraded in
    approx 10 cities only.

I actually already have a spare bsnl 3g sim, got it when bsnl just launched 3g.. want to use it for alternate internet access.. so want to go as cheap as possible.. I'm already satisfied with my adsl connection for downloads. I miss those unlimited days on bsnl 3g, however bad it was, downloading blu ray movies was just a matter of hours.

So guys the verdict is I can topup with 98 and get 2GB 2g

Dude you can but you'll get 3GB now, as BSNL revised there plans.

    I tried sending "ACT3G" to 53733 ... didn't help

bsnl babus dont even care to look into the matter...
so wait for your data packs to complete its validity as i've seen on my no. that speed automatically increases as soon as 2G data pack's validity expires.

if this also doesnt help u, then change your number.

Its true, it works with new 3g sim. You get 3g speed in 2g plan but only for 1 or 2 recharges and after that ur speed will be capped 15/20 kbps. Sorry This is cruel but real

your 2G speed cap will auto disable after the end of ur 2g voucher(rs 98) Time period (1 month). in this period, any 3g recharge is only a waste of money.

use 2g guys, it get 300-500 kbps. its enough for browsing.
i keep on storing all bigg to be downloaded files in waiting at IDM. next month when i do 98 recharge,i start downloading immediately at 3G speed, and i am able to get 1.5 gb before capping (5-6 hrs).
