    Default UMG 1831 peculiar problem. Only green light blinking.

    Hi,

    I have used this modem successfully before and tested with other BSNL sim as well. Working is absolutely normal.

    But i have this new bsnl sim in which 2G gprs pack is activated, have been using from phone bluetooth because of this problem with modem.

    When plugged in, the modem just keeps in blinking "Green" light, whereas for other sim it latches on to Blue light as soon as its detected. Mobile partner software shows "Not connected" and signal strength zero. But UMG 1831 figures in "choose device" option.

    Now in T-mobile software, the signal shows 1 or 2 levels, but even after acquiring data service is over, the green color doesn't go off in modem to blue.... it stays in green. So if i chose connect in T-mobile from here, throws off an error 635 or 618.

    Can anyone help ???

    I may not be correct.. but :

    1. i have some modems.. blue for HSPDA connection established.. green for EDGE or GPRS connection established...red for no signal..

    2. Check if you have selected UTMS/HSPDA signal in the T mobile software or hybrid.. if only UTMS. then if u click connect it can show error..change it to both options..

    Hi,

    There are three color codes actually, Green, Blue and Red (?). I've seen green and blue. Blue comes when its connected and ready to dial. Green when its not able to detect any network. When connected and in a gprs session the modem shows a continuous Blue light on.

    The thing is, the SAME configuration works for another sim, both are 2g sims, but i have gprs pack on this sim, so forced to find a way out.

    And yes, tried all network options .. GSM preferred, 3G preferred, GSM only etc etc... have been working on this for a while but no results. Did register network in mobile partner successfully but still no connection or signal showing there with Green blinking light.

    Try one thing..

    Put this 2G sim on mobile and chk if data working..

    If working then put in the data card.. and in the data card software option.. instead of the APN.. change the option to dial a number " *99# ".

    Yes, its working on mobile phone. Actually am able to connect PC to internet via bluetooth on this phone. But only on data card its not working. Can they disable the function of plugging sim in data cards??? Just coz it works perfectly fine in other bsnl sim card. And i use *99# only to dial.
