Thread: bsnl 3g ipad microsim

hi

a few days ago i bought an ipad microsim from bsnl (jaipur). now heres the story

1. they took 30 rs from me and told me to recharge it with 70 rs to activate that 1gb per month scheme. the recharge did not go through after several tries.no internet.
2. next day i went to bsnl cc and told them what happened, they looked into their system and told me that i have recharged the ipad 3 times!!!!! and that is the problem. they topped it up by rs 30 and the internet started working albeit on edge like speeds (max 80kbps!!!) i went home because it was closing and they asked me to come next day
3. next day i again went to bsnl cc and they told me to meet a tech guy who told me something about sim mapping and that how those 3 recharge f**Kd my sim. he did something on his computer and the speed went from 80kbps to 2400kbps!!! it remained above 1200kps that day.
4. now the speed have again crawled back to that 80kbps mark and that too very consistently

has anybody else ever had this issue?

Check other threads on same issue. Did you try the SIM on data card or mobile phone ? If you use it anywhere other than iPad, BSNL system will get the IMEI no and recognize that it is not iPad. This will result in degrading of your speed to 64 Kbps (as reported by some other user). You can get it unlocked by BSNL people. But if you use it again on any device other than iPad, it will happen again.

You can try changing the SIM if you think there are other reasons for this phenomena.

I got the same issue with the microsim.. Speed cap to 64 kbps..

3 days continuous I went to exchange.. show them the speed on speed test.. they refreshed the services by the number... speedtest showed 1-2 mbps.. but only for a hour.. then back to 64 kbps..

As far i know they knew that i was not using by IPAD>. i used on samsung device.. and they cap it..

Finally i got the trick..

As soon u connect to net..on smartphones... has a continuous connection.. but as the IP refreshes or fresh connection is made, it caps the speed.. not the 1st time u connect..
SO my advice is dont let the connection break.. keep using it .. In case they cap it.. restart and keep using..

can any 1 tell me how to arrange bsnl iphn microsim. i visited bsnl office they r asking for i phn bill i dnt have any 1 phn.
