    Default Bsnl micro-sim catch

    Guys,

I would like to draw your attention to a few misconception some people are having regarding BSNL MICRO-SIM.
Most of us think that the UNLIMITED data plan that comes with the Micro Sim can be used on Datacards or any other mobile phone other than APPLE IPAD...but i am afraid to say that the answer is a straight NOOOOOOO....the reason being "Its strictly for IPAD" as the Plan name suggests.

Now some of you might be asking this question that HOW DOES BSNL(in this case) FIND OUT WHAT DEVICE I AM USING IT IN....right?

The answer is simple...by the IMEI number of the device.

IMEI-The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number of a mobile phone is a 15 digit number unique to a mobile handset. Just key in *#06# on your mobile phone and it will display its IMEI number in most phones. Note it down safely. It is also usually printed on the compliance plate of the handset usually under the battery.

In fact each GSM mobile phone is assigned a unique IMEI code when it is produced. If you know the IMEI code of a mobile phone, you can check information regarding manufacturer, model type, date and country of approval.

You can also verify above information by sending an SMS as follows. Type IMEI [your 15 digit IMEI number] and send it to 53232 or 57886. For example IMEI 359223015426526 to 53232 . You will receive a message with all available details from the service provider.

IMEI number can help in tracking or blocking your mobile phone if it is lost. When a phone is switched on, the IMEI number is transmitted and checked against a database in the network's EIR (Equipment Identity Register). The EIR has three categories namely the "white lists", "grey lists" and "black lists". The operator can block a handset by putting it in black list. Also by using Global Positioning System an operator can track the handset user also. But the use of these lists and technologies is at the operator's discretion. Generally operators provide these services in case of special investigations on

So, having switched on the phone, the operator comes to know about what phone model of what company one is using by the IMEI number. It also applies for data cards, as i said any device with a sim card in it!

BOTTOMLINE: ANYONE WHO TRIES TO USE BSNL MICRO-SIM(in this case) FOR THE UNLIMITED DATA PLAN ON DEVICES OTHER THAN IPAD BE ASSURED THAT YOUR SPEED WILL BE CAPPED

but as it is said no system is full proof..
okay so first of all the china mobile manufacturers used to put wrong or say fake IMEI to handsets.
getting IMEI of ipad isnt a big deal and then you can flash the data card with that IMEI if somehow then you are good to go.
now lets see if someone gets with this trick
