    @ popper

Every forum has their own rules. SMS content is not advised on tech boards as there are many people who find it difficult to understand. When you ask a question, it is not just you that is benefited, there are threads with 50,000 + views which helped a lot of people through Google.

And mocking mods is something I would not advise.

A username can be anything. It should also be unique. When I registered, I had thought of using "justforkicks" but it was not sounding right to me. We never tick someone off on their username (unless it is offensive to the general public).

I use SMS lingo in texting sometimes. The cell phone text message allows only 160 chars and hence SMS words are OK as one wants to convey as much as possible, as quickly as possible, in one message.

But this is a forum and a tech forum at that. The forum is not restricting your post in terms of letters. You post can be as long as you wish. Hence we request everyone to post in proper English.

Some abbreviations such as 'u', 'r', etc. are OK in a post. But a post filled with all SMS content is not acceptable. It looks ugly on the site.

I hope that I have explained the context.

Is this only for the iPad? What about for other Android based phones and such? If i pick up an Android based phone will I need to invest in a 3G plan for my phone to make the most out of it?

Wink Android phones work very well in GPRS /Edge pcks too

Most Android phones from cheap to expensive have minimum 3.6 mbps data speed or mostly 7.2 mbps capable.
Even though I have many 3G sims ,I use it with GPRS pack enabled sims too.

Airtel ,Vodafone,Uninor GPRS packs works very well for Android mail apps ( gmail, yahoo)
    Facebook/Twitter.
vodafone and Airtel GPRS packs give average 20KBPS or 156kbps or even 180 kbps sometimes.
You can even hear all global stations via internet radio (winamp-shoutcast radio app) as long you choose stations below 96/64/40/32 kbps speed.
128 kbps stations will buffer too long.
I hear Western country music/ Arabic or Ghazal staions all the time via gprs sim in android.

Browser (which is the best selling point for android) also loads some what slowly in gprs speeds.)
It is not a must to spend rs 500-800 on 3G
You can spend Rs 100-150 /month on gprs and experiment with android.

dont buy resistive type cheap android.
    avoid china/micromax type android.

good android costs rs 8000 atleast (2.2 version only) you will not get software upgrades.
Budget samsung or even Dell XCd 35 is worth the money.

It will fit only in iPad, but people use adapters to make it fit in other devices too. I think that is the reason behind this move.

@ulysses Thanks for the very detailed response. I am looking at picking up an Android phone sometime in January of 2012. I am looking at available options and plan to take a closer look at the Sony Experia Ray.

Default BSNL Removed Unlimited iPad 3G Data Plan

According to my knowledge BSNL 3G unlimited data plan for Rs 700/month if you pre-pay for 6 months has come to end on 29 Jan 2011 those you are subscribed to that plan can still enjoy unlimited 3G service but those who are looking for a unlimited 3G plan from BSNL here are your current options.
For post paid BSNL 3G customers you can still get the unlimited 3G but it will work out to be Rs 1,359 / month excluding taxes and for pre-paid customers it would be Rs 1,499 / month.
