Thread: 2g plan not working in 3g network mode

Uptill now i was using 2g plan in 3g sim and always used "3g only" network mode in the modem. but since yesterday what happening is that i get connected to internet but my computer shows no internet access. The received data is zero. but in "gprs/edge mode" i get internet access but in the worst 2g speed

i think BSNL has once again tried to cap 2g users in 3g mode

Is anybody else facing the same problem?? Plz help

I spoke with BSNL office head in chennai who is btw my uncle....

There is actually a loophole in the system & they are gonna fix it soon in all the circles.

It was a intentional loophole that was created by the TRAI itself to entice the market & get positive response...

Basically Demand Vs Supply theory

He siad now that people are used to good speeds & they will go to "any" extent to get the speeds.

They want to trim/truncate the 2G market.
To elucidate the fact, he quoted BSNL has "inched" its fair price by 50% in all the circles for 3G.

So going by your statement ,soon we need to start begging for alms !!

Btw he said plans are there to bring Unlimited 3G plan sometime in Julne 2012.

Fingers crossed! but hey, I am still enjouyong the benefits of 3G on 2 G sim..

looks like temp. network problem to me. wait for 2-3 days. it has happened to me a couple of times

working here in NCR..though speeds aren't tht good

In UP West circle speed is pretty much better than earlier. It never goes below 350 KBps.

Yup it was a temp problem. now i can connect in 3g mode and speed is also good
