Thread: 3g to 2g

hi friends, new in here, sorry if there is any mistakes.

I got a 3g USB data card (ZTE MF627) with me and i was using Vodafone sim to connect to the internet. i have been only getting speed up to 20Kb max. so i just now bought a bsnl 3g sim (Rs. 179 in which i got recharged with Rs 120). but after buying i got to know that i cant use any 2g plans (Rs.89 for 3gb/month) in that 3g sim. And all 3g data plans seem to be so costly.

Is there any way to change back to 2g from a 3g sim? and will i be getting better speed in 2g mode than the Vodafone im using right now( 5 - 20 KB/s)

i have attached the data plans for 3g sim that i got from the bsnl office, they told me that i can only use these plans and not the 2g plans in this sim.

Please help me out..

If u want to use 2g Plans then Vodafone 2g speed is better than Bsnl 2g speed.

Where as BSNL 3g has great speed but its very costly. and there is no trick to get that speed in 2g plans but as far as i know u can recharge ur 3g bsnl sim with 2g data plans but ur speed will be reduced to 5 - 20 KB/s

so, there isnt any working 2g plans for 3g sim anymore? i tried to recharge with 89 and it says recharge failed. is there any other option for me please..

In BSNL its 98 rs recharge not 89 rs

i dont know, but i changed my 3g sim to 2g then i recharged with Rs 89 (SMS GPRS89 to 53733) and i got 3gb usage for a month validity. got 30kb download speed. again i changed it to 3G expecting for a miracle.. But nothing happened. got the same speed.
