Default Do I need to change my SIM for 3G Service?

    Hi guys,
I have recently purchased Micromax Canvas HD A116 and now I wish to use 3G on my Canvas HD, I have been using my SIM since 2002 and got is replaced just once that too in 2008, I got a call from BSNL and they told me to get it replaced as we are upgrading our system. I guess now I have 32k SIM (not sure though).
I have already sent a msg to 53733 "M3G120", I read somewhere that you can activate 3G service on your 2G SIM by sending "M3G120" to 53733 but its almost half an hour no reply from BSNL.
I also tried to call customer care no 1503, they told me "You have to enable "UMTS" from settings, I searched but didn't find the option, they also told me that if don't find "UMTS" you need to change your SIM.

Now I am clueless how to activate 3G service on my Canvas HD using BSNL SIM. There is one more problem in hand, in 2002 I was in Indore and purchased the sim from there only and now I am in Ujjain, I had to go to Indore for changing my SIM in 2008, so do I need to go to Indore again just get my SIM replaced?

You don't need to change your SIM for 3G.

I migrated my 9 yr old BSNL SIM to 3G by sending M3G to 53733 ( this is valid in the KA circle , SMS codes may differ in other circles ).

After successful migration I received a message and *123# also showed the new 3G plan.

Thanks for your reply, but you replied a little late my dear friend, I changed my SIM yesterday in the evening and now 3G is working fine.
Though I did try with "M3G120" as I read somewhere on the net but the code was wrong, I also talked to CC thrice but all the time they were telling me to replace the SIM with new 128k SIM for 3G.
