Lightbulb BSNL not charging me if i use net beyond 8 am

    Hi everyone ,
I am using Plan 500 .Yesterday I connected to the net at 7:50 am ,i used more than 20 mb (20.3 to be approx) and then i disconnected net at 8:10 am.
After sometime when i checked my usage ,I was surprised to see that i was not charged for that.It came under free usage.

    I am totally confused!!!!!!!

For users having NU 0200-0800 ( specially IP 117.xx.xx.xx) usual advice is
to start d/l at 0210 and end at say 0755 to avoid billing problems.
.Try 1. Start D/L 0150 and your usage will be charged for time block 0150-0220.
    2. Try start D/L at 0755 your usage may not count for block 0755-0825.
Clock time can be different at your end and at Bsnl server end.
Whether this"bug" has been removed no idea.
But better check the summary always.

Correct. One day I left for office early around 7:30 AM. Consequently the reboot script did not work (as my laptop went away with me) and all the night download went into the day time usage. I asked my wife to switch off the modem at 8:35 but by then the damage was done.

bsnl doesnt easily give away a data for free ,they even charge for the data ,if u forgot to disconnect the line after the unlimited time

the bug is there i lost nearly 300mb when i forget to disconnect the line
    before 8

    U r right Internet_guy...

Today I slept well & forgot to disconnect the Modem at 8.00 am & I disconnected at 11.00 am. I lost 115 MB... even though I did not download anything after 8.00 am becos all my downloads are scheduled to stop at 7.45 am...

Will appreciate if some one let me know to overcome this bug...

its not a bug !! .. as just4kix mentioned you can have a reboot script to automatically reboot your modem.. you can schedule the whole process.. no need of getting up in the night at switch on the modem and again switch off at 8.. you can automate it..
this is what im talking about Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Reboot adsl modem or router using telnet script

To avoid time differences with bsnl servers, sync your computer's time with the time on a mobile using a bsnl network.

Yes they are not going to loose anything by the extra 10 mins we use. We are going to get billed. Thats all !!

Yes............. I agree with Udayan. you can sync your computer's time with the time on a mobile using a bsnl network. I am doing this and the BSNL portal is also showing the exact timing with my computers one.

This occurs when BSNL messes up the plan profile and the speed profile of a particular subscriber. Dont worry, BSNL will surely get wind of it and will charge for the extra GBs downloaded by him stating he had misused their network !!

well i have scripted my dataone to connect by 2:08 and to disconnect by 7:58.. it works fine for me.. no extra download charge until now...one more thing, sometimes if i want to download some more mbs remaining for a particular file..i just disconnect net before 8, suppose 7:56 and start downloading again until it gets disconnected automatically or by some fluctuation...so in this process i download until 8:20 to 8:30 a.m. n this is included in free usage timing

    Just today morning from 2009-01-31 07 : 49: 25 to 2009-01-31 08 : 14 : 43 costed me 0 Chargable Units (KB)

I guess if my net wont get disconnect, it will b accounted as 0 chargable units until i disconnect my net. Is that really so?

don't worry. BSNL guys would soon rectify it.
but make the best of it while it lasts.
