Folks I have a UT300R2U ADSL modem from BSNL and i'm fed up of connecting it as it takes PPPOE as default mode. I have to take it to the exchange and get it done in Bridge mode. Bridge mode ethernet is now supported by BSNL servers at bangalore,So the modems with UT300R2U will have problems and have to get their modems to work in bridge mode in order to connect. The person at BSNL does not tell you all this he says" i configured the modem to work now its fine" but will not disclose his secret.
Can i use another ADSL modem like D-LinkGLD-502T it supports direct bridge mode and costs a mere 1800/- and host of other features than our BSNL counterpart. Will it work fine on a BSNL network.
