Thread: help in bill calculation

please from the attachment help me calculating how much i have to pay ,i am confused how should i CALCULATE THE USAGE as i have downloaded around 100 mb from 1st october to 5th oct, in my plan 250 startup i always watch movie,hear music in radio or chat with friends am i charged in these things please explain me in details i am very much confused.I USES A BANDWIDTH METER IT ALWAYS SHOWS SOME USAGE WHAT IS THIS? AS I AM NOT DOWNLOADING ANY THING IT SHOWS AT THE END OF DAY IT SHOW 100 MB ,PLEASE EXPLAIN

4.ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES

Please do not rely upon any bandwidth meter and just check your usage on the Bsnl broadband portal for a better idea.

Yes all those updates will use up bandwidth.

subra007 have you ever thought about getting an unlimited broadband plan instead a limited use one? It would solve all the problems of keeping a check on your usage.

Internet was not built to have boundaries so why have a cap on usage? Free yourself and go unlimited It might cost you a couple of hundred extra but trust me it still worth the money.

Everything u browse or download is literally 'downloading' so everything is charged.
Even if u browse the net u r downloading web pages(but they r very small in size) Updates also are counted. And wacthing movies or music radio, these are heavy downloads (specially movies). Movies and everything else has to be downloaded somewhere (mayb in temp folder) and then it would be played. So reduce watching heavy movies or change to some her plan.

yES U R TRU ADMIN I HAVE APPLIED FOR UNLIMITED BUT BSNL ACCIDENTLY GAVE ME STARTUP 250 INSTEAD OF 750UL AND IN THIS HIGH SPEED CONNECTION I HAVE USED A LOT OF BANDWIDTH I AM IN TROUBLE.

for how long have u been using this 250 plan ?

you should have complained , if you applied for a certain plan then they cant give you another , with out your approval.

i APPLIED ON AUGUST I GOT MY CONNECTION ON 18 SEP ITS TOTAL 17 DAYS I TALKED WITH THE BSNL GUYS THE SAID IT WAS MISTAKELY DONE,bUT I HAVE PROOF OF EVERY TRANSACTION.

so stick on it, they cant charge you for their mistake, if the local guys don't listen then complain to higher authorities

How long does a plan takes to change? I want to change my plan from 250 to 500. I mean does it change immediately or from the beginning of the next month.

depends on your exchange, could be a day, a week, or a month

the change can take place any time in the month

personally I feel to avoid any future heartattacks when yu get your bill, it would be better to have an U/L plan cheapest is the U/l 750 .. the only disadvantage is that the d/l speeds are not higher than 30 kbps on a good day, lower if its during weekends and hoildays amd peak hours,

my personal opinon is that BSNL have purposely RESTRICTED U/L plan holders from large and continous downloads as thay prefer to give bandwidth to the regular plans who have to PAY more per MB downloaded and so thay earn more revenue ... how and I prove this ? if any one has any ideas or suggestions I would appreciate the same .... as I intend to collect Data and file a complaint with the Consumer Forum against BSNL for misleading advertising and false promises !!
I myself get ridiclous speeds of less that 10 -15 kbps on a daily basis may incresing to 25- 30 kbps towards late night , but I have NEVER seen speeds of even 50 - and above ...... why say 250 kbps when u have no intention of providing the same , I understand its not possible to get 250 kbps exactly but on a stated 250 kbps d/l speed at least 190 - 200 kbps should be ideally given .... not the poor sppeds mentioned earlier

we need to band together and take on the Monopoly created by Bsnl and its "take or leave it attitude "

yes u r right in 256Kbs atleast we should get 150Kbps,I have BSNL GPRS i get around 6-8KBPS but page loading is really worst .

somebody give me a address where i may fill a written complaint against the plan they provided me instead of 750ul .Its not fair i applied for 750ul+ and deposited Rs2100=1200for modem,900for unlimited.and now its startup 250,

1.You have already exceededthe 1 GB allowed under the wrong Home 250 plan allotted to you. . by about 1.6GB this month Oct.
will cost your Rs 1600/= extra.
2.Better go the exchange and make a written complaint, that you have been allotted a wrong tariff plan. ( get a receipt in duplicate from CC)
3. Give your STD code also and give brief particulars. here.

What "MY Orders" page displays ?
What is your bill amount for Sept/2008 ? Did you get the printed bill ?

I got my portal ID after two days my connection was setup and i talk with the exchange guy they told after bill arrives the correction would be done,I did not get my first bill sep08 usage 8057MB.

You have also said that four of you can access each other's acct.
Due to applications being mixed up may be you were given Home 250 ?
Check your other three friends usage.

When you confirmed/checked in "MY Orders " your plan is Home 250 !

1. each of our friends plansand usage are ok and there is no port binding in our town.

2i downloaded as i know i have documents of my unlimited plan i applied for ,so its not my fault BSNL has done the mistake.

Yesterday i got my bill but i think i am the lucky one with UL 750+ as i am having a 2MBPS instead of 256 KBPS its amazing.I was in tension those days with my plan lets see how many days the speed remains.

Plz Help me to calculate the bill...Its 1.80gb How much would be the bill???

Please mention your plan. What is the bandwidth limit for your plan ? Rate differs for different plans. Is it a new connection ? If yes, mention the date on which it was active.

Assuming your connection was for the FULL month
from
summary shown on top deduct 1GB ( 1024 MB)
and calculate excess usage:
Formula:
A= Usage/excluding NU in GB
B= entitiled free D/L
C= B minus A
D= C x 20paise per MB= excess charges.
One INR Rupee = 100 paise.
