The speed you are getting is correct..
For 750 plan, the speed will be 25~35 kB/sec....

I am in Home 500 plan. With good # of seeds and peers, my average download speed is 215 - 240 kBps. Just check the docs posted by many users about configuring router and torrent client for maximum speed.

It seems your connection is working fine. you cannot get speeds of above 32 KBPS in UL750.

28 KB/sec is fine speed , u cant get more than 32, so if you need more speed then switch to 2 mbps plans

no the problem is tht the speed NEVER goes above 28kB however good the seed peer ratio is. this happens ONLY for torrents. when i download using a browser its about 27-35kB/s. thats y i feel bsnl is throttling speeds

i'm a mac user nd i use azureus/ vuze and transmission

Man that speed which you are getting is normal. Don't expect great speeds on that 750+ plan!

Even I use Azurues (Vuze)....& even I am in 750 UL plan...
Below are the sppeds I get...

The torrent speed is around 27~28 kB/sec on a average....
Sometimes it goes to around 33~35 kB/sec,but it dosent remains constant above 30 kB/sec...The average is around 28 kB/sec....
While downloading using browser....Intially the speed is around 40 kB/sec then it reduces & on a average its around 25 ~ 35 kB/sec

Don't change to Home 500 plan - change to one of the Home 500 Combo plan if you wish to change.

Even better still, if you can afford it, switch to UL1350+.

    BSNL- Landline Service Tariff Card
Check here. You get NU , as well as some telephone calls free.

Apply NOW. Change may be effected from November 1st !
    Check in "MY Orders" .
If at all the plan is changed midway of this month,
you should get better speed .

I have set the upload & download limit to "Unlimited"...
    I get speed on a average of 26~28 kB/sec (750 Ul plan)....

Wanted to know abt the upload & download limit...
Should I set to unlimited or not...
If not then what limit should I set it to....

Upload and Download speed limits in the torrent client should be set to 80% of the respective actual upload and download speeds.

There is an easy way. Just change your Data plan to 1350 ul or Home 500. If you compare the BB tariff and speed of some ISPs you will feel like BSNL is doing a free service or something.
