see exactly why does my compt start at a spEEd of 90 kBps (90 kiloBytes) and then steadily drop to < 30 kBps ... i'm not talking Kilobits here I am talking kiloBytes ..so its definately +ive that the speeds are available but being capped/ restricted , my problem is how to record and show BSNL, I have D/L bandwidth meter , but it does not record my d/l speeds , just displays the same !!

if any one has any way to recording and storing say at least an hour of D/L speed display ,I could take up this issue !!__________________

If you have read this thread then your question is rhetorical. With UL750/+ plan, your maximum speed will be 256 kbps or 32 kB/s. There is no way to increase that.

Actually the speeds in bittorrent or any app for that matter seems to come up against an invisible wall of around 256kbps. This might seem right, but they do advertise as "upto 2 Mbps" even for the unlimited plans. Curiously, it is possible to achieve this speed and i've seen it once. it only happens when u've not paid the bills and they disconnect both ur tel & broadband connection. When u pay the due it's reconnected & on the day u regain the connection, the speeds mysteriously jump upto 2 Mbps. I downloaded almost half a dozen movies in a single day before i ran out of torrents to download. :cool2:

But alas this wasn't to be as regular service resumed the next day and it was back to 256 kbps. So yes, they do have an upper limit for the unlimited buffet guys. However, it is misleading the customers cuz either they should allow it to reach the max speeds when bandwidth really isn't used or they should stop the misleading ads.
