Thread: Alcatel Speedtouch 330 Modem on BSNL?

Hi,

I have an ALCATEL SPEEDTOUCH 330 DSL MODEM. Can I use this for the BSNL DATAONE DSL service or is it that the only modem that works on it's service is that cheap built modem that BSNL supplies...:-)

Was anyone able to configure their other modems (apart from those supplied by BSNL) on the BSNL DSL service? Would appreciate your help on this please...

Hi!!

I was able to connect my SpeedTouch 330 USB on the BSNL Dataone ADSL connection. If someone wants the procedure to connect, I will forward the email I got from the Speedtouch Customer Service. All you need to do is uninstall the existing Speedtouch driver and install the driver that the CS people have sent me. That's all! And you are ready to browse.

I have read your mail concerning the connection you would like to set
up with your SpeedTouch 330 USB i.c.w. BSNL DATAONE Broadband.

I've attached a certain installer which should be working for you.
Please save it on your harddisk.

Please carry out the following:
- Unplug modem
- Uninstall software/driver SpeedTouch 330 USB
- Reboot computer
- Turn off any firewall- and/or antivirus programs
( Leave the modem unplugged)
- Start off with the installation
- After completing the installation or when prompted, please plug in
the modem
- Finish up the installation and see if it works!

Note: you'll have to change the .abc -extension to .zip3

Never say that BSNL supplies a cheap modem. Huawei is a world leader in communication systems and there's a proof of it on their website. Huawei modems give amazing speeds.....
