Default Configuring a Dlink GLB-802C router.

    Hello ,

Let me first thank the admins ofthis site for doing a good job.
I need help in configuring dlink GLB-802C router. I am using dataone.
I have a strange situation, mu router was configured twice and i dont understand whether is a problem from BSNl's side or the router but my connection seems to work for 2 days and then theere is some problem in connectivity. If thoroughly checked the router seem to reset the whole settings of BSNL.Strangely though , even if the ADSL indicator is stable , and when no web sites is opening , my yahoo messenger works.(i cannot use voice/webcam though).

    1. DOes some one know wats happenning and may be provide some help??

    2. Can someone tell the steps onhow the BSNL can be configured on this router.

    Thanks in Advance.

1.No user manual download available in Dlink.in web site. for GLB802C
released in INDIA around August 2008.
    2. See this link and check your settings ( for GLB502T) should be similar.
    dlink.in/GLB502T_Guide_modified/BSNL_PPPoE.htm
3.Also apart from YM, Outlook or Outlook Express may work. confirm.
    4.Check your Firewall applications/settings,
5.or Disable temporarily and try again.

    6. Post ipconfig/all data.
(START run type cmd type ipconfig/all )

also , you could try using opendns servers.. their ips are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .. also go to http://192.168.1.1 .. and under status post your SNR.. ensure that all your telephones are connected after splitter.

Thanks for taking time and replying guys.

    @@@@essbebe

    1. I could not find the User manual.:surrender:

    2. The firmware used for GLB802 C is quite different.. but I have the same settings as shown for 502.

3.Have not checked that, I need to configure it and let you know.

    4. No firewall. Using windows default firewall. Also tried turning it OFF

    5.Did that with no success.

    6. Ipconfig result shows the DNS server address to be 192.168.1.1 which is of the router. The settings for DNS and IP address is to obtain settings from the router. DHCP ON on the router.

    1. I will check the open dns servers.

    2. Didnt check the SNR as well, I guess that could be the problem.pardon my ignorance but i believe splitter is some kind of device then its not installed. My line is just split by means of a parallel connection.

well you need to have a splitter to avoid frequent disconnections.. you should find a splitter somewhere near your adsl modem.. here's how it looks http://www.cable-trader.co.uk/images...er_premium.jpg

    @rohit_ogale .
If it is similar to GLB502T having a phone port
to connect Rj11 from telephone Junction direct
another adsl splitter is not needed.
Phone line/s may need the splitters.
Ensure the old type BSNL Box with filters inside is not used. .
    Will attenuate the signals.
    Please confirm.

    Para two:
Did you get an installation CD? User manual folder should be available , along with Quick start guide, and may be some drivers.
