guys, will the server load affect our speed??..i mean if ur exchange has too many users then it'l affect our speed??

Yes. Most definitely.
Imagine that there is a door. If everyone is trying to use the same door at the same time, there will be clogging.
hmm...everyone in my exchange are getting around 220-230..and my friend who's in a deep forest :P ..gets around 300-350..
Guys its also not so.. me n my friend using same exchange for broadband and same server but he has got more than 350kbps and more than 60 kbps of download. wher am i getting just 220 and 30 respectively.. i really dont know wats is the myth in this
distance from the exchange also has an effect on the speed
There are a lot of factors.
As panchabhut explained distance from exchange is a factor. So are SNR margin and Line Attenuation. Even two adjecent flats/houses may get different speeds because of the this reason.
My earlier comment (post # 2) was based on the assumption that all other things being equal.

I think mostly line Attenuation is very important for speed. If it's too high (more than 35 db) then user can get low speed, but below 20 db is very good. For me SNR value did not make any difference in speed only if upstream/downstream SNR is low then line get disconnect frequently
SNR also makes a difference. SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean?
SNR makes a difference on connection stability usually , frequent disconnections etc..
