hey.. presuming you want bridged mode(dial up mode)..follow these two and you should be good to go...
    1) go to system->administration->network and follow step 6 from this link Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Internet Works on one PC but not on the Other - LINUX(Ubuntu)
    2) The configure a dialer by following this Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: How to Configure Bridged Mode In Linux - pppoeconf

    Hello

Tried out the script..but now getting the errors:

After running the script i got a TIMEOUT Message
    2. Then i did a sudo pon dsl-provider and
    re tried the adsl-setup again
    3. Now i tried adsl-connect and adsl-start

I also got an error saying some file in /var/run/[some pppoe file] was not found [After trying adsl-connect this file was created..but its content keeps
    refreshing]

Finally i am getting the below error...

adsl-status: Link is down -- could not find interface <some number>

Is there any solution to this problem. Seem to be stuck and cant to the net
    at all

    Thanks

ipconfig will not work on ubuntu, terminal can not understand DOS commands

    go to terminal and use

    netstat -r grep default
    or
    ip neigh
