    Go to usage portal
    data.bsnl.in/wps/portal
log in with 14digit portal ID.
Go to Change Password option and re enter your OLD password again.
Now try. ( assuming you or on PPPoE "AlwaysOn" connection.)
If still not working ask BSNL to check up and to activate your new (OLD!) password.
Para two: Is there a Diagnostics page in the unit ? check there also.

I tried now it is not working. Let me call BSNL in the evening and try to activate. Actually 3 days before one the BSNL guy reset my password and tried... not working. What are the diagonistic thing i can do.

Can't you tell me the prob with existing system log? Is that anything related to SNR margin?

    Thanks,

Assuming Password is not the problem, recheck settings .

yes tata is working good for me without any downtime you can check tata reviews and check about tata services in your area (means colony and around) coz tata services are not same everywhere.

If you have set password within the modem, instead of pppoe try setting it to bridge. There is post related to this within the forum.

well the problem is in ur bsnl line, since ur DS and US margin is realy low,u will need a minimum of 12 to get a acceptable connection.right now u have 6 which is why ur bsnl connection is down,so ask the line man to check the wires in ur house if not there is a damage in one of the underground wires,i used to get DS maging of 8 and US margin of 12 and speed was so slow and sometimes just fails to connect even the ADSL light on the dlink fails to light up,even if all the four lights glow in the dlink the speed was realy slow until i gave a compaint they checked the line and corrected the fault know i get a US and DS margin of 22 which is quite good.

ask the bsnl to send a technician or a line man to your home and pay money if says he need to chane the wiring or something

i guess its ur adsl line which is at fault,so make sure u get it checked ,invest some money dude,if u want to have a stable connection for years

The performance might increase slightly if u get the adsl modulation to G.DMT

Default pppoe not in a state to handle it; currstate6 / 3

    To,
    whomsoever getting error like : pppoe not in a state to handle it;

    I FOUND SOLUTION

Well you need to set (or change) the size of MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) in your modem's internet setting. I have D link GLB 502T modem which takes MTU= 1492 (by default).

Afterwards, BSNL just told to change setting to MTU=1448 and WHOILA!!
    Now everything is perfect !!!

I think, you just ask your ISP to get the correct MTU setting according to their Router/Switch/Server Configuration.
