Thread: wireless security

i have recently configured my Dlink 2640T for BSNL Broadband, i would like to know how to make it security enabled as i dont want any one to hack and use my account

There are two threads about wireless security started by Just4kix and there is nothing about wireless security which you wont find there

well, u can use either wep or wpa encryption. although i can crack wep, but hardly anyone will, concluding from the response in the forum. I do not know ur router in particular, but here is what to do. go to wireless settings section, enable wpa-tkip. write the security key (any u like - better with alphabets and numbers, make sure u write it down somewhere or remember it) and click save. Then when u connect ur laptop or mobile, u will be asked for the key, enter it and viola! u need to have dhcp enabled in router if u don't want to set the static ip in ur laptop.
