Thread: Bsnl question???

I'M ON BSNL HOME UL 750 Plan. My download speed is around 30-35 kb/s
Even my friend is on the same plan but he is getting download speeds of 100-120 kb/s.
Also he stays near my house.
Any particular reasons for him getting more speed????

For 750 UL plan the max download speed is 32 kB/sec (256/8).The speed which you are getting is correct.There is no way your friend can get 100-120 kb/s on 750 UL plan.May be your friend is using some other plan.Confirm with your friend on which plan he is using.

I confirmed with him. He told its ul 750.
I even asked him about the bb billing. It was 750.
might be bsnl is making some mistake with his connection.

This is something new...Would like to get some comment on this by others....

first things first, u have an alloted bandwidth of 256kbps, that is 32-36kBps.
dnt confuse kbps with kBps.
kbps=kilo bits per sec
kBps=kilo byte per sec
example, i have home500c installed.i get 2Mbit-256kbps connection.
my download speed goes up to "2048 kbps / 8" =256 kBps {2Mbps=2048kbps}.

As to ur frnds speed crossing alloted limit, that can never happen.
in INDIA it is hard to get what u have legally paid for.
So forget about gettin free bandwidth.Give ur frnd a good slap and he will divulge the truth.

It may also happen that your friend is telling you the truth but BSNL has done something wrong. One incidence is that, one of my friend applied for HOME 250 connection, but the the activation of is connection it is seen in his portal that his plan is BSNL emplyees residence plan. I think most of our friend in the forum don't heard about this plan even me also. Though he has changed his plan to 750 UL, so at present no evidence

Are you talking about Plan 125. I think it was for BSNL employees only at first.

I think bsnl might have configured him with a faster connection plan ask him to check his order plan in portal .
