Thread: help in sharing internet

hi alllll

i just want to know how can i share my internet connection with other computer.i have 300r2u and bsnl connection. the other pc is in other room which is quite long. i also have another router for the other pc which is the same 300rtu.

so i have 2 routers and 2 pcs,and in that one with internet ,,i want to share this with the other pc....so what should i do...what cable should i use:nono:...i think its pretty long and please prefer a cable and with low cost.i also wanted to know approximate cost for cable.... :48:

Search the forum before making any post.

How do you want to share the connection i.e. two pcs at same time or only one pc at a time? Do you have telephone jack in the other room where your second pc is placed?

Only one computer at a time. expanding @mvb4u post.
Make a parallel RJ11 telephone 2wire connection to other room No 2 if not available now.
2. Both computers at the same time:
Modem 1 USB to computer 1 USB port Room 1
Modem1 Lanport RJ45 ( 8 wire ) cable to Computer 2 ethernet port at Room No 2.

In case of both computers at the same time dont forget to configure your adsl modem in pppoe(always on)mode.

will i be able to use the connection at the same time in two pc's

if i get a splitter for telephone cable can i split my telephone line and give it as the input to the other router in the other room.....

so that i will have my telephone connection and one to the splitter which again splits it to my ethernet and to the other router ....

please help i want to use both the pc at the same time to browse etc....

how could i achieve this .....

i want to share my bsnl 512kbps ul connection with my brother in other room...

and he may use it when i do so ...

If you want to use both pcs at a time then you have run ethernet cable from the adsl router to your brothers room and connect your pc using usb cable and both of you can simultaneously use the internet.
