i am using Dlink 2640T wifi router modem with my BB connection. how much speed difference does it amke whether i connect to the router via lan cable or if i use it with the wifi ie. without the cables.

there will be no difference in speed.
Although wireless lan (54 mbps) is slower than wired lan (100 mbps or even 1 gbps), because the ISP speed is much lower (typically not exceeding 2 mbps), it will make no difference for surfing.
But if you are trying to create a network at home, where you need to exchange files from one pc to another, then wired lan will be better.

I suggest you that lan is better for all connection , as there are lot many things which can affect your connection speed on wireless like
- Microwave
- Big Screen TV Like Vega can also hit performance
- Electomagnatic Interfaces
- Walls
- Distance from Router
these are the basic things which can affect your wireless performace but still to enjoy mobile connection wifi is a better idea![]()
