use "multiplay" since you have observed it changes to this automatically.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...html#post60156 (Help!! PPPoe Authentication failure)
Switch off the modem two or three times ?? to get PW as multiplay ?
    Para two:
How can you get the new access password for the modem/router
without accessing the modem settings with default PW admin.
1.You have to ask BSNL for the new modem access password.
2.Or if you want to make some changes, take the unit to Exchange and
say, you cannot access modem settings.
Usually it will be "admin" "password" "1234" or "bsnl" or no password.
    3. Or use the reset option to set the modem to default factory settings.
Presume you know where is the reset access point !
    see threads above.
    4. For fresh modem entries refer website
    calcuttatelephones.com/dataoneinstall/mu10.html
    5. Or you can try a PW revealer program/application.
What is the file extension name for the back up you made?
    6.TRY and give feedback.

YOUR Original problem : Do not know modem's access ID and password.
Cannot reset modem , because don't know User ID password ! to reconnect to Internet after changing modem settings.

    1. When you ask for an Internet connection
BSNL provides Example : USERID snmec576 password "happy2008"
This is entered in the WAN page of your router.
Whenever you switch on your computer and modem you get connected.
    2. You want to do all settings changes in your modem
the modem is usually accessed in IE by typing 192.168.1.1 admin password admin.
3.If your IP is 177.xx.xx.xx to check your usage BSNL provides
another 14digit portal ID Example "snm12345102008" default password : password.
There you can change your user password.

Now if you don't have any of the above complain to your Exchange.
You MUST have all ALL the above. If they don't give them, give feedback here.

Update : Upload your back up file for the modem settings.

SUMMARY:1.. Don't know USER ID password
    .................2... Don't KNOw Modem access password .
.................3..... Cannot "reset" modem because of 1 above.
.................4...... Has 14digit Portal ID and password.

YES. in The Usage Portal : if you change the UserID password
You will lose, Internet connection, because
    You CANNOT CHANGE
the password now entered in the modem "WAN page ""always On"
because you DON'T have modem access Password!!!!

    Para two:
You can now reset the modem to factory settings.
Access the modem with default ID admin and PW admin.
Enter new settings for a Dialup or "Always on" Mode >
    Save and reboot.

Para two : try this password revealer.
Download Asterisk Password Reveal 3.0 Free trial - Reveal asterisk password with one click.

Tell us what action you took on previous posts ?
I need the back up file badly to access your Bank account also !
That is why BSNL has denied you access to modem !!! No password.
Also no user password !!! They are protecting your interests !!!!
So carry on internet usage with present settings.
No need to access modem etc or know the password/s.
