    Default help portforwarding on ut300r2u

I got ustarcom ut300r2u router which has a custom bsnl rip firmware
which does not include virtual server option and only includes NAT-DMZ option

    Now here is my problem...

    1. My router is on pppoe mode and did add my lan ip(network connection -> Local area connection ->properties ->tcp/ip etc etc..) in the dmz
but even then using GRC scan/canyouseeme i am getting all my ports as closed... :nono:

    2. Then i put my router on bridge mode so that it can bypass the router firewall and then i did the scan again but still all ports shown as closed..

    3. Then i turned of my windows firewall and did the scan again and found that only port 139 was open... i dont know how the hell it was

4.One of my friend Has airtel broadband with beetle220bx router which as Nat ->virtual server option, so i borrowed his router and reconfigured it for bsnl(vpi/vci 0/35 etc etc)
and i was able to connect.
then i did the scan again and to my surprize i found port 80(http),21(ftp), and one more port i dont remember now..
    was open.
then i added ports in virtual server to forward them and did the scan but my ports were still closed

(port 139 on ut300r2u and ports 80 ,21 open on beetle 220bx Open w/o doing anything in the router)

    3. One last question.... letz say If I am running a program on my computer that connects some "xyz" server which infact tries to connect me through "so and so ports".. and if those "so and so ports" are closed should the connection be terminated?:surrender:

    Default Help

Yes i can connect to internet and surf
but the thing is i play this online game on which the response time 200~300 ms is considered normal whereas i get 1300~1500 ms which is wayyyyy toooo laggy
when i contacted the tech staff of the game they replied with list of things to be checked for the game to run smoothly, among them the ports 7221 and 8222
has to be open was the only thing dint match.....

correct me if i am wrong....
since these ports are closed the game isnt able to establish connection with me

    ok this is my ipconfig

Port Forwarding UTStarcom UT300R2U Adsl Modem/Router
see this web site for details.
The UT300R2U modem given by BSNL lately has a custom stripped down firmware. Almost all tutorials on port forwarding the modem assume you have the old firmware. This guide will show you how to forward your ports using the new firmware. If you are connecting to the internet using Bridged mode, you don't have to forward your ports. Port forwarding is necessary only if the router is working in PPPoE mode.
    2. Use OPENDNS 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222

    3. IN TCP/IP properties/ Advanced / WINS
    tcp/ip over netbios
    Check Default.

    UPDATE: time 0830PM 26th oct

    Please post Device status page.
Also try these . Confirm pages are available or not.
    Open 192.168.1.1/main.html

    Then type the following :
    (1)virtual server
    192.168.1.1/scvrtsrv.cmd?action=view
    (2)Port triggering
    192.168.1.1/scprttrg.cmd?cmd=view
    (3)DMZ (* available now)
    192.168.1.1/scdmz.html

Dont bother so much in port forwarding...!!

I'd give all of u a simple help in port forwarding BSNL/ANY BB...ISP....Download/Buy Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 check the latest version...!!

It has a network monitor which automatically forwards ports when a certified application requires port access..! for eg..! Bitcomet/uTorrent has certifications that are valid and the ports say anythin around 30000-65535 gets forwarded automatically under UPNP port mapping...!!

    Hope my tip helped..!!

Very sorry. Your Modem appeared slightly different. with IPV6 and client tr_069.
Post screenshot of Device Status page showing the firmware.
    Para two:
Beetel 220BX firmware can be tried. ( which your friend has).I can also give link for the FW update.
But If unsuccessful your modem will be Useless.

Para three : Can you update your OS ? Is it Xp Sp2?
certain ports N/A, modem has nothing to do with it.
    Did I ask for TCP/IP configuration ?
Or may be the Registry is corrupt. ( hosts file )
Was the computer used earlier by somebody else ?
    Feedback please.

    Default Help

These are my sc of status page

1: Burning the beetel firmware on ut300r2u is pointless as i cannot forward ports on beetel too. even though it has a virtual server option and i added my ports in it which are to be forwarded and it still failed.

    2. I used bridge mode which practically bypass all firewall settings... still failed.

    3. I did some research and found that the router dosent have the option of universal plug and play

    4. Now 2 things i would like to ask here
1: very noob question --- does splitter has to do anything with this cuz i am not using it, i have the phone line directly attached to the router
2: Does having lan ip outside of wan subnet help me in any way?

    5. Is it that all the ports are blocked on isp's side?

This is for users who don't have the patience
to read the full thread from beginning !!
    @superprash 2003
Imagine if there were 30 or 40 posts.
Usually gets diverted from original problem ! ( Like this !!!)
Later when doing a search in Google or Yahoo ,
you get many threads in forums, without any solution or
    response.
