Thread: Internet freezes often !

Your SNR margin is a bit on the lower side - on the borderline. You should get at least 20 db to get a sound connection. But if your home is more than 3 km from the exchange, expect low SNR - nothing much can be done.

BSNL uses copper cables whereas Airtel, Reliance, etc. are using fibre optics. In Fibre optics, the problem is much much reduced.

actually distance is less than 1 km. i am near only...

i have same problem as u mentioned here.my phone line is ok[no noise] *i have seen dsl light goes off and after 10-15 sec it is back n this happens daily,sometimes for a hour or 20-30 minutes.everything stops[torrents,browser,messanger] i tried every possible solution but of no use....one solution yesterday i found is that turn ur modem off for10-15 minutes{try to turn on after 15-20 minutes if u can} and after that it is all normal...try this solution,it helped me*

1. go start then run there type %temp% ok it
2. see that some temp files to remove that
3. select all by " ctrl+a " and delete from computer by " shift + delete "
4. again go for run and enter only "temp" ok it
5. if u find any temp files remove same way as .3.
6. finaly keep ur ram freely by these way or down load ccleaner from file hippo.com
7. instal the software thereafter analyze and runclener from that exe

1.Your SNR/ATTN figures are satisfacory,
but more SNR say above 20 db would be better.

2....If you could select only GDMT in DSL page ( bitswap enabled )
there could be some improvement in SNR.
3......Anyway I think BSNL line may not be the cause for your BB connection ""freezing"" problem.
4. ......Presume you are using IE6 or IE7.
Download & try FireFox Browser. go to filehippo.com.
5.......... Also download and run Ccleaner from same web site.
6............. You could also d/l a download Manager. say Free Download Manager.
7. Also an Anti virus program .
8. Reply about No.of applications on start up, or appearing in Taskbar.

well thanxxx dear ...i tried as u told us now see what happens in few hours..some files are still in temp folder n it didn't got deleted[used by other programs] *names are ~DF3310.tmp,Perflib_Perfdata_6d8,plf27.tmp,sfextra .dll * * i am using ccleaner regularly but why it leave these files * * *,now i manually added this folder to ccleaner to do my job

Check again cables for corrosion/rusting/contacts blackening etc.

HI everybody *i am having same problem and to show this problem i have spent some time to make this picture with full details of what problem i am facing.....i tried ccleaner n also deleted temp folder but thats not working*

hey... the problem also same.. but.. for me. the DSL and Internet light is on.. , the internet lam is not flickering during tat time.. whereas while downloading. it normally does.. it does not go of.. but its stable...

i wanted to know.. change my router will help to giv me more snr? coz.. i switched off and on.. i got snr upto 16.. sum times 14.. and 7.. etc.. fluctiates.. but maximum being 16

hm.. i bought same kinda router ma neighbour.. no change in ma snr.. so ma router is good.. that bsnl guy came.. chaneged the outputs.. in tat DP box or sumthing still no effect.. he said.. there may be sum kinda earthing.. so only.. he said he will try connectin to another DP box.. few buldings... near.. so waiting for it.. will post the result soon...

and thanx for the board.. for finding the cause of my problem.. i hav been formatting.. tot some kinda virus.. changed modems.. cudnt find wat is the cause..

hm.. they changed my phone line to the DP box in next building also.. still no effect.. why is this problem? whats the cause?? they said they tested in telephone exchange.. and said.. the connection is perfect. But my Snr reaces maximum of 12.. and comes.. down.. i get around 9 as snr.. most of the timeS!

have u tested ur connection using a different modem ???

they changed to two different DP box but still the same. get 9 some times.. and goes to 6 afterwards. Snr margin no improvement!

how is the SNR of your neighbour's connection .. if your neighbour has one..

no one near my house with a broadband connection...

is there anyone who could help me? i complained n times.. the line man came.. checked the wirings.. he called the telephone exchange.. they also said.. line is good.. but i gettin snr as...low
downstream..is around 15.. but upstream is low.. y is upstream alone low? i get 6 some times!

Can you ask your Electrical shop to make
A RJ11cable with only 2 wires from the RJ45 cat5 cable. ( try 2 meters length)
They have the crimping machine.
Sometimes cheap telephone wires also degrade data signals.

well i was also dealing with same problem few days ago.i tried everything and at last i changed my mode to adsl(from adsl2+) ,my snr is 33.2 now...ru using splitter or not??

hm.. i tried changing to another DP Box(i think Distribution Box) But still no effect. they said they changed MF group or value also... MF means isome main frame thing.. but.. i dont see any differece!! some one help me please!!!

Hi ppl, Got ma problem solved to an extent.
My Downstream Snr raised to 31, and upstream was 30.. but now 19. So i get freezing.. but not tat often.. very rare.

Te problem was not in ma telephone line. They said they will try changing the profile or something.. in broadband exchange and not telephone exchange. So now i got it solved!

my downstream is 28plus.. only prob is ma upstream.. its 19 only.. why is dis? can any one tell me please
