Cool Direct downloading or P2P Downloading speed remains at 25 - 35 kb/sec

I am using BSNL Broadband (PLAN HOME U/L 750 Plus) with 256 Kbps speed and Nokia Siemens C2110 Modem. Whenever I download anything via uTorrent 1.8.1 Stable the downloading speed remains at 25-35 kb/sec and direct download speed is 30-50 kb/sec. Before this plan I am using Home 500 C Plus and it is giving 200-240 kb/sec downloading speed and 100 kb/sec and above of P2P download. Help me to solve out this problem.

Are you sure this is a problem? I don't think so.

This is not a problem rather I can say that you are getting the speed that you are promised. Your PLAN is UL750 and you are getting the appropriate, accurate speed.

Plan UL750/UL750+: Promised speed = 256 kbps or 32 KB/s
Plan Home 500 C: Promised speed = min 256 kbps, max 2 mbps or min 32 KB/s, max 256 KB/s

So as everyone else said, you are getting the promised speed.

You will get the same speed as the previous data plan for few days even after changing the plan.

I think the speed limitation will be activated as soon as the plan is changed to an unlimited plan. And no one will get the speed of previous plan for few days. But here I would like to clarify that the speed will not changed from the time of your plan change application to BSNL but from the cativation of your new plan.

I don't know how this works. But it happened to me when I changed from Home 250 to Home 750 ul(900 ul). Only for 2-3 day I got the same speed as Home 250(near 200 KB). One time in 750 ul, I got near 140 KB download speed and it stayed like that for 3 days(8 AM to 10 PM). So I think speed limiting and plan change must be different process.

No friend! actually this is not the process. Some user of this forum reported that they are also getting more than 200KB/s with their UL750 connection for 2 -3 days and then their speed was also restricted by BSNL. I think that was a server error.

OK! That might be true. But I got the same speed as my previous plan for few days after changing it to 900 ul. The reason I changed to 900ul was because I got a huge bill (obviously ). So I was worried and checked for the plan change in bbservice.bsnl.in. The current plan was displayed there as 900ul.

Even though I got high speed after changing to Home 900 ul. I waited for few days before downloading any heavy file to make sure the plan is changed for good.

I also changed my plan h500c to ul750 and for 3 days my speed was upto 200kB and on 4th of oct it dropped to 28-34kB/s...as other members said it is due to plan change.when ur plan is changing it shows various status[open, future dated] and at last when it shows provisioned than ur speed will be as per the new plan.i downloaded nearly 20gb in first 3 days[counted as per old plan] so i went to bsnl office to make sure that my plan change was from 1st or 4th??? they told me that it is alwayz 1st of month and if ur getting bill for those 3 days then we will adjust it.i didnt recieved bill yet so what will happen i dont know??? but as they know us very well ,i will handle it...i have told other members too that dnt download unless ur status is changed or ur local exchange confirms ur plan...they also checked my change status and it was showing plan change from 1st itself

rest depend on bsnl
