Thread: help reqd in setting up internet connection

Hi All,
i am using BSNL broadband connection on my desktop (XP). My modem is UT 300R2U.
i want to use this connection with my laptop (Vista).
i initially tried installing the driver software of the modem on my laptop but it is not installing it.
please suggest how i can set up the internet connection.

How do you want to connect to the internet from your laptop i.e. through wi-fi or through LAN cable??

Is your modem wi-fi or not?

The software is only needed when you are connecting to internet through USB

And configure your modem to PPPoE mode to use internet connection in multiple machines through the very same connection independent with each other

i dont have a wireless modem.
i would like to use both my desktop and laptop simultaneously.
my desktop uses USB connection, so i would prefer ethernet connection for my laptop. pls suggest how to do the set up

Setup the modem in PPPoE mode and then only you can connect both machines together.
