I assume you are talking about upload speed. That will only display. When an ip is downloading the part of file from your downloaded file.

.torrents. You need it until you delete/remove the torrent from torrent client. After that you can delete it. Normally utorrent saves the .torrent file in the Applications directory when you add torrents for downloading.

then y its always showing in my torrent client.. the file is seeding but uploaded 0kb? i am asking just because in private torrrent sites i am facing problem.. in my utorrent it always says seeding.. but uploading is 0kb.. so tht private torrent site my profil says nothing uploaded... recently i got warning.. damm it ...

Thats exactly where the problem is. I cannot seed properly in private trackers. I think it is because the private trackers have good no. of seeders and the latency for us to seed is very low. Also lots of people uses seed box to seed the torrents.

I am not able to understand the problem clearly. There are many rules used in P2P for good performance. So all we can do is seed until the ration is changed in utorrent. The private torrent site may take time to index your download ratio. I am having no problem with Demonoid so far.

BTW. My upload speed is twice that of my download speed.

i am a bad uploader,thats one of the two reason i stay out of torrents

see this is my torrent snip.. check.. in all it will say seeding.. and check the date it got completed downloading... first 3 torrents completed since 25/10/08 4th one completed on 5/11/08 and last one completed today.. all are seeding right??


my question is.. those that were completed since 25th of last month uploads are 0. and the last torrent which completed today... seeded almost of 2gb...
now here is where problem comes.. in private tracker.. we need to seed.. right? all first 4 are from private torrents tracker.. nothing uploaded.. last is from pirate bay.. uploaded neatly.. so i will have warnings from those .. where is the problem i dont know.. :lol:

But you should know that the label saying seeding doesn't mean peers are leeching from your downloaded torrent (file). Like I said before there are certain rules P2P follows to ensure best performance foe all users.

1. The speed(upload) of seeder.
2. The availability of content.
3. The distance between the seeder and the peer. etc

In other words, the peer will try to download content from the closest seeder which have a certain part of the content available who have good upload speed. This all things are strict with private trackers than others.

In this case I am sorry to say that have no idea, only you can fix this. I can only give points on the things I know. But do analyze the facts I mentioned. :surrender:

BTW. Did you deleted the .torrent file after your download completed ? (I remember you mentioning this somewhere ?)

IF so please note that .torrent file is important for P2P to work. You should never delete it until you delete/remove the torrent from the utorrent list.

A '.torrent' file is a pointer file to the location of parts of the real file on the Internet. The Torrent client software puts your computer into a peer-to-peer network that then collects the various parts of the real file using the TORRENT file as a guide. Meanwhile, your computer serves as a server to collect parts of other files and forward them to others while you are connected. .

well sorry for the late reply... the big league booty.. the porn stuff what u ppl are making fun.. :lol:.. just downloaded because i inbetween noticed in the private tracker the site.. that there were comparatively very good traffic for porn rather than all other stuff.. i kept downlod for xp black edition.. still its not getting finished.. i can get only 45 to 55 KB/s speed.. for it.. so thinking abt the traffic.. i thought to check out the speed and also if lots of leechers and downloaders are there there can be possibility something wil be uploaded from my pc from tht file..which will benefit me as tht was private torrent.. but unfortunately it also dint worked.. in tht file also nothing uploaded.. other wise trust me.. guys.. i still dint get time to sit n relax n watch tht clip.. lol... and OFCOURSE DOCTORS ARE HUMAN BEINGS.. btw, back to topic... Max. d/l speed I get during 2-8 is ~ 210kBps... I download around 4 GB (+ - .5GB) everynight... Max. upload speed I've set is 30kBps... never care to see how much it uploads during that interval...

Well, from public my max speed is around 190 kBps... so therez a difference...

Use free bandwidth to the full extent ppl,

when d/l jus a single torrent at a time, its possible tat, ur using oly a part of ur full d/l bandwidth. I always make it a point to have atleast 5-6 concurrent d/l so tat if a particular torrent has low seed/peer ratio, overall the bandwidth is fully utilized by other torrents.( This may sound similar to pipelining done in a microprocessor, the overall efficiency is improved)

The oly disadvantage is at the cost of time. Stuff tat can be d/l over night gets dragged over for a few days but its well worth it if u have a lot to d/l...

Also if ur using a ADSL connection ur uploading does not affect ur d/l speed anyway (as long as ur oly using torrents ), so u could seed ur torrents for a while to help others out.

hey guys, i am new to dataone with Home 500 C plan with Night unlimited and 1.5 GB ul/dl limit during peak hrs. My usage shows "Total Volume" as 3.5 GB and "Chargeable Units Excluding Night Unlimited" as 435 MB.

I wanted to know that is this 435 MB going to be deducted from my limit of 1.5 GB? If yes, then does it mean that i will only have to pay the rental and nothing extra as i have not utilised the full 1.5 GB.

Yes, 435 MB is going to be taken from 1.5 GB limit. If you haven't utilised 1.5 GB, then you don't need to pay anything besides rent.
