    Motion Picture Association of America.

usually keeps an eye on torrents especially for latest/blockbuster movies.but no need to worry at least here in India.use uTorrent as usual alongwith peerguardian if you wish.always download only authentic torrents(read comments).sometimes organisations like MPAA put up fake torrents which show unusually high number of seeders & peers(like 20000 seeders,20 peers)to get IP's for movies which can't possible be released in DVD(like quantum of solace bond movie DVD RIP just 6-7 days after its international premier).DVD rips usually takes months after premier of the movie.

yes, MPAA has started a small scale war against torrent users. but dont worry my friends. there is a very easy way to stay active without gettin caught.
regularly view the website TorrentFreak | Torrent News, Torrent Sites and the latest Scoops
it gives info about what is goin on in diff search engines. MPAA tried to insert fake torrents in piratebay, but piratebay always catches those fake trackers and reports them.
so, we have just got to keep our eyes open and read the reports in torrent sites.
and one more thing, dont download latest releases at once. its better to wait for a month or so to get a good dvdrip rather than dlodin *TS or *R5 copies ( which r inferior in quality).
so, STAY SHARP & STAY ACTIVE.

MPAA cannot do much about torrents (P2P) and Rapidshare.

    @Evander Leopold

    Yes I use utorrent.

    Upload Speed:
For private trackers I dont maintain upload speed (because I usually dont get good upload speed there).

For public trackers with lots of leechers I maintain 4:1 (download : upload) speed ratio

I also face one problem though (even when no speed limit specified) : my maximum upload speed is ~35 KB/s. I never get higher speeds than that. I'm downloading a torrent with ~125 seeders and ~1200 leechers and have completed 54.2% of it. yet UPLOAD Speeds for that torrent(or any other torrent for that matter) does not rise above 25KB/s

Download speed : I used to get ~240KB/S but since october I'm getting ~205 KB/S

in the case u mentioned, seed:leecher ratio is too low. so all the bandwidth "the seeders r giving + the amount shared by peers" is being divided into 1200 parts. thats why ur download speed for such torrent is lower than it should be. normally 30 seeder and 50 leecher can give u above 100kBps in ur net.
200+ is pretty good speed for 2MBps line( i m assuming its ur bandwidth). start panicking when it stays below 150 for a few days.

    ur upload speed is 256kbps.
    that means 256/8=32 kBps.

go to that option menu in pic.
u probably have 256kBps selected, change it to 384 like me.
this will automatically raise ur default max-upload limit to 35kbps.
there is another way but this should work fine.

to open that window click on the green circle with a tick-mark in the middle. its at the bottom of utorrent.

What is the maximum upload speed you get ?

btw: I havent selected any speed limits in utorrent (upload or download). Both are set to 0 [unlimited]

at the beginning of the download, tracker info is saved in utorrent. so, u can delete the torrent files.
in case u need them again, u can find them in........"X:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\Application Data\uTorrent"
    they r all stored there.
