PEOPLE HERE IS MY SPEED DETAILS FOR UNLIMITED UL 750 PLAN OF BSNL[MODEM=UT300R2U,SYSTEM=XP-SP=2,RAM=1GB]....I WILL BE HAPPY IF U SHARE UR SPEED RATE TOO...IT WILL SHOW THAT WHAT WE R PAYING FOR...I AM SATISFIED BY THESE DETAILS OF MINE...AS IT PROMISE 256kbps[FOR UL 750 PLAN] MAX[ I AM GETTING ABOVE THAT]..ITS NOT 100% ACCURATE BUT I AM HAPPY TO SEE MY RESULTS...IT WILL GIVE US IDEA TO SET OUR DOWNLOAD N UPLOAD SPEED FOR BETTER RESULTS[SPECIALLY TORRENTS]...THANXXX

I can't comment on the condition of lines in the Punjab area, so speed may vary from region to region. (I'm in Bangalore)

It's true that you are getting a DL speed more than what is guaranteed (i.e. 256 kbps). However, the amount you are paying for this connection (Rs. 750) is totally not worth the speed even for an unlimited plan! (considering BSNL's other plans' speeds)

For example, you're better off going for Home 1000 with night unlimited (2 am to 8 am). This has a baseline DL speed of 384 kbps which claims that it can go up to 2 Mbps.

Here's the shocking, but good, truth - with this Home 1000 plan, I now consistently get around 2500 kbps DL and 400 kbps UL speeds!! And it has night unlimited. (I havent posted my speedtest pics but can once i get home)

So, IMHO, the extra 250 I think would be a very worthwhile investment. Even better if you can afford the Rs. 1500 512 kbps NUL plan. Dont worry about not having a full day unlimited connection. Look on this forum for instructions on automating your torrent downloads at night if needed (I don't imagine you're downloading heavily during the day). TRUST ME, it's much more worth it...

well thanxx for ur reply ...i was having home plan 500 that provides unlimited too but i cant wait to access free net after 2am...so i opted for unlimited plan....its gud for me as i am living in small town and there is no other broadband connection i can go for so i am satisfied by bsnl

well my friend there is a formula for this , but unfortunately our admin thinks if it is disclosed the it can be misused, so have patience , u will get rep points very soon

I think it also have something to do with number of posts. I am guessing 50 plus posts will get 1 rep and 1000 plus posts will get 2 rep. etc. Also Adminji can give repo to a member who contribute well.

Although in theory i shd not get anything more than 32KB/s
But look at the attachements for some of my d/l speeds.

Edit:Its obvious that im UL 750 user.
