    Angry Problem With Multiple Connections....

    Hi Friends,

I am using a C2110 ADSL router from BSNL. And I have two systems connected through LAN using a Cat 5e Crossover cable.

Both systems are using Win XP SP 2 and are talking to each other without any problem.

I call the system which is connected with the router as "Netman". It is the server.

    Other one is "DreamStation".

I use USB to connect the router to Netman. So I have a secondary LAN connection for the router (Local Area Connection 2).

Firstly I tried to use normal way of internet connection sharing while the router used the Bridged mode (dial up way).

Couldn't connect to net from DreamStation.

Then changed from Bridged to PPPoE as instructed on the DataOne website.

I did set TCP/IP for Netman as follows:

Local Area Connection 2 (for USB to Router):

    IP : 192.168.0.1
    Subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
    .
    .
    .
Rest were DNS. Did set them up accordingly.

Local Area Connection (for Ethernet to DreamStation):

    IP : 192.168.0.2
    Subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
    .
    .
    .
Rest were DNS same as Local Area Connection 2.

    TCP/IP for DreamStation as follows:

Local Area Connection (for Ethernet to Netman):

    IP : 192.168.0.3
    Subnet : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
    .
    .
    .
Rest were DNS same as previously mentioned.

I also have tried without Default Gateway and DNS. Also tried different set of IPs like, 192.168.1.10 ...11 ...12, 10.0.0.1 ...2 ...3.

Nothing seemed to work. Netman successfully connects to the net in every scenario. But DreamStation does not. However, when I connect router to DreamStation, it connects to the net which is usual.

I can't use Ethernet port of the router as I need to connect both PCs through LAN. I can't buy a switch at this point.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks and regards.

    dt

    i think this should work..
    local area connection 2
    ip as 192.168.1.10
    gateway as 192.168.1.1

    local area connection
    ip as 192.168.0.1
    gateway as 192.168.1.10

    DreamStation
    ip as 192.168.0.2
    gateway as 192.168.0.1

AN easy way out is to bridge the two interfaces.. just follow the ICS wizard and point out the correct interfaces and you should be good to go...look for NETWORK SETUP WIZARD.How to configure Internet Connection Sharing in Windows XP
