Have u tried wakeuponstandby? Its an easy to use freeware... which can bring ur PC back to life from standby mode at a scheduled time(2:05am)... And therez an option to launch a program(like IDM) afterwards too... U can schedule it to standby the PC at 7:55am too... search google to download it...

Default only method working for me

    hi

i tried everything but this is the only method which is working.

change ur modem to bridge mode from pppoe by doing this steps

    1. Goto 192.168.1.1
    2. Enter U/N & Pwd which is Admin in both cases.
    3. go to interface setup change the pppoe to bridge
    4. go to maintenance and restart ur modem

    5.
    Change your IP properties
network connections-->right click on LAN --->Internet protocol (TCP/IP)properties--->General --->select Use the following IP address

    Fill the following :

    IP address :192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.4 ....
    Subnet mask :255.255.255.0
    Default gateway:192.168.1.5

Use the following DNS server addresses

    Prefered DNS server :218.248.255.145
    Alternate DNS server :61.1.96.69

(in which you dial the connection from windows using your bsnl username/password)then see here---

    for connect/disconnect use batch files.
paste these lines in notepad & save files as connect.bat & disconnect.bat

    for disconnect.bat---
    rasdial "bsnl" /disconnect
    for connect
    rasdial "bsnl" ******_***@bsnl.in password
where bsnl is the name of my connection(it depends on what name you give to your connection)
    ******_***@bsnl.in is my username
    password is my password

use windows task scheduler to schedule these .bat files to run at 1:55AM(disconnect) & 2:05AM(connect) then again run disconnect.bat at 7:55AM.
remember to save files as .bat as notepad saves files as .txt by default.when saving files select the file type as all files & then save the file as .bat.bat files are like .exe files & when you double click on them they execute like exe files.you can check your files by double clicking on connect.bat & disconnect.bat to see if they are working.

Bridge mode doesn't mean that I've to use wire/LAN... its a setting in modem that enables us to dial 1st to get connected to internet... i.e. we just need to create a dialer on our windows to connect and disconnect... no need to reboot modem... dialer does the work... I use bridge mode all the time...

PPPoE mode is necessary when u want multiple machines to share a single internet connection... but u need to reboot the modem after 2 am in 500 c+ plan...

In bridge mode u just need to disconnect & reconnect the dialer... no need to reboot the PC...
I can't explain converting pppoe to bridge mode better than what inba did in his previous post on this thread only...
Still confusion... check out threads in Broadband How To section... I learnt from there only...

Set it in LAN under interface as shown in figure...

Enable ur wi-fi adapter and it will connect automatically like LAN with ur modem...

Refer to Initial Setup of WA3002-g1 ADSL Modem to set it up in bridgemode...

reset the modem again... and reconfigure... 192.168.1.1 will be back... but u may want to change it like 194.201.1.8 for additional security...
