    Default modem resetted!

well guys.. here i need some help... previously i had configured my modem well and good..

    1. my connection was secured.. and
    2. my port were forwarded perfectly in utorrent..

now in between i tried changing my modem from poppe mode to bridge mode.. unfortunately something went wrong and i was not able to connect to internet.. i went back and reverted some changes which i made... but still wasnt able to connect to internet.. so ultimately i thought of resetting my modem restoring default... i did tht.. entered login and password... and now able to connect to net...

now the problem is... my wifi is unsecure.. and port is not forwarded... what to do> ? i dont remember where and what changes i made previously.

now for connection making secure.. smoothvibes..pl tell me how to do it.. last time u told me.. and it worked.. will be very happy...

and for port forwarding..i was following this post..http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...-part-1-a.html (Port Forwarding Image Tutorial For Utorrent [Part 1]) but as for it i need static ip .,, i am using vista.. when i go to command prompt and type ipconfig/all it displays something diferent.. not as simple as shown in the thread as for xp.. so guys pl tell me what to do abt it.. somewhere i am getting ipv4 addres ________ <preffered> is that my static ip? i am nto able to figure it out..

regarding my previous port opening in windows fire wall tht is still there.. should i delete tht and make it again> ? what all necessary changes i should make?

    thanks...:surrender::surrender::surrender:

I think you should click on the network sharing centre in vista, where you will find a link to manage network connection. Then you will find your Local area connection. Right click on it and go to properties and edit the parameter for IPV4. you will find a XP like environment. I think you can go for setting static IP, Subnet musk etc there. After completion you can try ipconfig command and do not go for ipconfig/all. then you can go for port forwarding in the modem with your static IP.

After the steps of my previous post you may do the following:
    1. Use the following IP Address
    2. In IP address field put 192.168.1.10
In Subnet musk field put 225.225.225.0 ( I think you just click on the field first it will automatically changed to the above values if not then edit)
In Default gateway field put 192.168.1.1
    3 Then go for
Use the following DNS server address
    Put Primary DNS as 208.67.222.222
    Alternate DNS as 208.67.220.220

Then follow the BSNL MAIN MENU LINK from the above post to configure your port forwarding and pppoe connection etc etc......
