Rep Power: 0 | Mr. smartkc, The following suggestions I suggested to veeru_007 about 3 weeks ago. "Low SNR is not the prob of yours only. At the begining I also faced low SNR and high attenuation ( as low as 7 db local SNR and 9 db remote SNR.). I kept complaining to the SDE(Extrnl) of my Local BSNL exchange. I insisted to change the pair of loop, even to change the DP. I gave them the statistics in black and white. One of the major problem I faced, the frequent disconnection of the session in bridge mode. I suggest the following: 1. Keep insisting to change the pair of loop that connects your tele line. 2. Make a hold of the lineman if possible, who can satisfy yourself by changing the DP box faster than an officer. 3. Other than Metros, BSNL doesnot have ADSL tester. The Modem doesnot always show the correct statistics. Try to test with other Modem if possible. I did in my case and that showed 1-2 db difference. 3. According to BSNL <15 db for local SNR is not suitable for BB. Although we know at 12 db we can do enough. The values you showed resulted frquent disconn. that would be registered in your BB portal usage. Take a print out and show that to the BNSL Officer concerned when faced the problem, many suggestion came. One them was to use "Connetion Booster". You can use that or Use "DSL speed" to Optimise MTU Give a search in google for them." To add a liitle - PPPoE better than Bridge but it doesn't not show any "error message" if fails to connect. To see the "Error" message you need to opt for Bridge mode. In my office they use Bridge mode and in 7 hours time the session gets disconnected at least once most of the days. To more software on Window paltform I suggest "DRTCP.EXE", "TCP Optimizer". Both of them were suggested by the Senior members. MTU control & Blackhole detection are important for speed, I believe. One final presumption - the problem with the DSLAM port on the Exchange side. But that's the last step. You need to get a good hold to change the port because today's BB Connections are port bound. |
