get your tel. line/splitter checked properly by bsnl.SNR should be around 25-30 and 15-20 for download and and upload respectively and attenuation around 10-15 or less for better performance.

Hi I am also having the problem with frequent disconnection of bsnl dataone from the beginning.3 months before I took BSNL BB. They have provided the ut300ru modem and the attn,SNR statistics are 13.3 / 6, 46 / 21.5 for downstream and upstream respectively. My Dsl link is stable after 30 mins only but it gets disconneced after 2 or 3 hours. After resuming the username changes to multiplay. Why this is happening?I have the proper BB setup in my premises.Pl help me to get this problem solved.

as u said downstream snr should be higher...but reverse is in my case...why upstream snr is higher? does it mean that my upload speed is higher??

    Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 7.3 13.0
    Attenuation (dB): 26.0 15.5

i get disconnection whenever call comes...my adsl splitter has no probs..

SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) is not directly related to speed of the connection. It's like a comparison of signal strength, and noise corrupting the signal. The reason for low SNR generally means problem with phone line. Also it doesn't matter if SNR Upstream is higher than Downstream. Attenuation means loss of quality of signal. The loss of signal quality should be less of course.

The best thing to do is book a complaint to BSNL customer care.

What Archer said ^^^^^. Plus you probably need to convince them to change all telephone wires that run into your house.

.......Change mod to GDMT and see any improvement in SNR.
........You may have to uncheck adsl2+ and adsl2
......... keeping GDMT T413 Glite and bitswap enabled.

It must be a problem with phone line. Like I said " book a complaint to BSNL customer care." BSNL have the responsibility to give you the promised connection speed without any problem.

ensure that all telephones are connected after splitter.. try this, disconnect all telephones temporarily and restart modem and see if your SNR improves..

Show how your phones are connected .
Any extension phones in other rooms directly from BSNL telephone PORT ?
After resuming the username changes to multiplay
    1.Try dialer mode.
2.Connect DIRECT from Phone junction RJ11 to modem.( No splitter No phones )
    3. Post IP config/all data

i have seen ur attachments.why u connected both modem n phones on same line??? splitter has two open points [one is adsl n other is phone] after splitter i saw only one line coming out in ur picture, thats wrong.connect ur modem into asdl slot of splitter, also u have 2 phones so u should have one more splitter to connect 1 phone through it...i hope u got that .if not tell me ,i will provide picture of it.....

    Default Frequent Discon.

    Mr. smartkc,

The following suggestions I suggested to veeru_007 about 3 weeks ago.

"Low SNR is not the prob of yours only. At the begining I also faced low SNR and high attenuation ( as low as 7 db local SNR and 9 db remote SNR.). I kept complaining to the SDE(Extrnl) of my Local BSNL exchange. I insisted to change the pair of loop, even to change the DP. I gave them the statistics in black and white. One of the major problem I faced, the frequent disconnection of the session in bridge mode.

    I suggest the following:
    1. Keep insisting to change the pair of loop that connects your tele line.
    2. Make a hold of the lineman if possible, who can satisfy yourself by changing the DP box faster than an officer.
    3. Other than Metros, BSNL doesnot have ADSL tester. The Modem doesnot always show the correct statistics. Try to test with other Modem if possible.
I did in my case and that showed 1-2 db difference.
    3. According to BSNL <15 db for local SNR is not suitable for BB. Although we know at 12 db we can do enough.

The values you showed resulted frquent disconn. that would be registered in your BB portal usage. Take a print out and show that to the BNSL Officer concerned

when faced the problem, many suggestion came. One them was to use "Connetion Booster". You can use that or Use "DSL speed" to Optimise MTU
Give a search in google for them."

To add a liitle - PPPoE better than Bridge but it doesn't not show any "error message" if fails to connect. To see the "Error" message you need to opt for Bridge mode.

In my office they use Bridge mode and in 7 hours time the session gets disconnected at least once most of the days.

To more software on Window paltform I suggest "DRTCP.EXE", "TCP Optimizer". Both of them were suggested by the Senior members. MTU control & Blackhole detection are important for speed, I believe.

One final presumption - the problem with the DSLAM port on the Exchange side. But that's the last step. You need to get a good hold to change the port because today's BB Connections are port bound.

I quite agree. Nicely put together pal. Repo 4 that.
