for password you can call BSNL Cust Care and they will provide you the correct password

to make a secure wifi please update your modem details here and please check Broadband How to Section, still if you face any problem then post here

U mean u changed ur broadband login password in the portal and u dont remember it ????
U can call customer care or personally contact local SD/BBE. They will reset it to default.

And if u do remember the new password and asking if it will affect ur modem...... then,
No, modem login password is different than broadband login password. So, u will be able to log into modem settings page.

In pppoe mode you save username and password in router and the modem connects to internet automatically when you switch it on. And in Bridge mode you save user username and password in computer. You use a dialer(like dial up connections) to connect to internet.

in pppoe mode, ur login details are already given in ur modem. so u r online whenever u switch ur modem on.
in bridge mode, u have to swich on the modem and then use dial-up (just like in common 56k dial up connection) to enter ur username and password, then u will be online.
u will find more details in broadband how to sections.

startup 250 plan gives u 1gB free limit, doesnt it ???
u better start using bridge mode.
for more info please give ur modem details.......

Yes startup has 1 gb limit.

I have still not understood the advantage of bridge mode. Does it save bandwidth.

What details do u need abt my modem ?

    thanks for your help

In some cases, yes, it saves bandwidth.
Imagine that u have ur modem switched on and u r watching a movie. In the meantime ur "antivirus/antispyware/os/security software/system maintenance soft" is updating its database/engine. That would leave a bad scar on ur meagre free limit.

If u post ur modem model number/name/manufacturer etc here, I m sure somebody who knows about it will help u.
