Thread: VOIP with OOMA hub and Model ADSL

My buddy sent the device OOMA from the US and said that it is only a 5 minute to setup and make it work. Well its not working.

My components:-
ISP - BSNL
Model - ADSL smartAX MT882
OOMA Hub - a VOIP device

Setup - per the documention which is listed on the OOMA webiste - page 6 option 3 "DSL and phone on the same line"

I am getting the 815 which is to do something with ISP provider.

Any suggestions on how to make this OOMA work?

you need to ensure 2 things
1) DHCP is on in your dsl router
2) You are using ppoe mode in your router..

can your confirm these 2?

Web site says mainly meant to work in U.S.

The set up may be Internet/==> modem/router>>>OOMA UNIT/>>>ANY telephone instrument.

Mention the modem/router you use
Program it for "Always ON". PPPoE (Idle time 0 )
and not " bridged" Wan miniport Dialer mode.

Probably you mean 815 is the error message you got
"The remote server did not respond" No internet connection.
Confirm you have a computer working Fine for BB connection.


Can you access the OOMA device settings?( If any required)
User nameID Password for OOMA known to you ?
Do you have a U.S. number to use to send/receive calls?
