    Mention modem/model/number
    try "Always On" mode.
Ensure all Phones connected to PHONE port of ADSL splitter.
ANy extension phones in some other rooms use additional ADSL splitter.

Try/enter dns 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220 both in modem and TCP/IP page
    .feedback.

All details of modem is shown in the picture. I have entered that DNS. Always ON mode doesn't help in disconnection problem.

SO are my Signal to Noise Ratio and Attenuation values within good range?

Everything is shown in the picture:
Under ADSL Statistics, this is what is shown:
    Modem HUAWEI MT841
    SNR Up/Down - 32.5 dB/36.5 dB
    Attenuation Up/Down - 14.5 dB /37.5 dB
    Bandwidth Up/Down(Kbit/sec) - 252/2045
    Modem is in BRIDGE mode.

The lineman told that higher voltage potential in the line(17Volts) is causing frequent disconnections. That may be the cause.

I was inactive here for some reason as my net was not getting disconnected frequently for the last month or so.. Actually i had installed Quick Heal Total Security 2011.. Is that go to do anything wid the disconnections?? Does antivirus have any effect on the connection??

By the way, here are my SNR and Attenuation Values from the Modem page.

Any one care to take an insight, and find out whats the problem of frequent disconnections.

Also the lineman once did a test, and told that the voltage coming through the line is 17volts, which is higher than the normal value. So that's the reason for disconnection.

Dude even i faced similar problem as u are facing.. its a svchost error.. the status window also does not open.. its a sad error..!

Although AV's should have no effect on internet connectivity unless you setup the firewall into something moronic; quick heal is HORRIBLE.

I still don't understand why so many people still pay money for such a rubbish piece of software when free AVs like avg, avast and antivir are tons better.

Regarding frequent disconnections; it's almost certainly a line issue since BSNL uses very cheap twisted pair wires. Check for breaks and noise. The only way to resolve very frequent d/c's is to go to the local exchange, and have a line man or engineer look into it.

    Default Frequent disconnection

I am getting frequent disconnection after changing over to 625 UL plan. I had no such problem with 250plan. I have lodged several complaints, they came and said they have replaced wires and there shouldnt be any problem. Still I face the same disconnection problem and very very slow speed. My land line number is 040-24573471

Please edit your post and remove your no. Though no member will misuse your personal details, being a public forum it may land in wrong hands.

    To do

    1. Mention your modem - model and make.

    2. Post your SNR and attenuation values.

    3. Ask the line man to give a clean line. Make sure that there are no joints or non insulated parts in the line. Check yourselves and confirm.

    4. Try talking to the SDE of your exchange. Call customer care and ask for his no.

    5. If nothing works, a written complaint with receipt to Nodal officer and /or Appellate authority may help. ID and phone no. on the backside of your bill. Call them and seek help.

    (1) In your modem check under DSl and uncheck box ADSL2 + for a stable connection. ( give details modem/make/model/number or select from links below )
Re check STATISTICS ADSL Data. SNR/ATTN Sync Rate Rate
    (2)
Your earlier speed 256KB/sec and present 32 KB/sec
8 times slower ideal conditions. So it appears slow to you.
Likely to get 10 to 30 KB while d/l with Download Managers. Video will be buffering often.

    Para two: Consider these/.

BBG FN Combo 599 512 Kbps 4GB NU no telephone rent free calls 200.

BB Home Combo UL 625 256Kbps U/L no telephone rent free calls 100.FNcombo should suit you.

    BB Home 750 512 KB U/L H24.

Since you were earlier on Home250 1 GB limit
    BBG FNcombo should suit you.

    256 Kbps 32 KB/sec 1.8MB/min 60 MB/hour.
    say approx 2 GB h24.
for full month download possible 60 GB.

512 GB NU 8 hours 40GB !!! ( with auto schedulers) Plus 4 GB day.

apply on line here . no need for log in.
