Thread: Configuring bsnl broadband with WRT54G2 router

please help me to configure my home pc which is connected to bsnl broadband using huawei modem SmartAX MT882, i want to connect my laptop using WRT54G2 router so that i can use internet on both my pc and laptop. My pc is connected to broadband.

1.Mention your modem model.
2.It is presumed that you are connected to Internet and able to surf.
3.Mention if on Dialup mode or "Always On " PPPoE mode.

5. Enable DHCP in your Huawei modem .
6. In Computer
Start/Network/LAN/wireless Network/ TCP/IP properties
Choose "ObtainIP address automatically.

7. Feed back , if problem,with details of ipconfig/all
Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig/all

plz help me with my modem. i have mentioned my modem model type. i am able to surf net through this modem.

1.Remove the Rj45 cable from Computer end.
2.Connect to InternetPORT/WAN port of Linksys wifi router.
3. Use another Rj45 to connect from LAN1 to computer ethernet port.
4.Select the Wizard.
5.Check you can connect to Internet and surf.
6. Give feedback for wireless set up.

you havent mentioned how you are connected to the internet currently?? does the internet work as soon as you switch on your modem ( ppoe mode)?? or do you require to use a dialer in windows to connect to the internet(bridged mode)??
