    Default Wierd Modem Problem

I am using UTStarcom UT-300R2 modem.

Ever since I changed modem to bridge mode , if i revert to using PPPoE mode I am not able to access cetain websites (esp Microsoft.com , Download.com among others).

I confirmed that its not a OS problem.

Is there any work around for this.

firstly you could try using opendns server - 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .. if that doesnt work, then you could try changing MTU values to 1492 or 1454 etc

u didnt say what dns u used at first in pppoe mode.
the dns setting was specified there in the modem.
when using open DNS in pppoe, did u put it in the modem setting or in the lan settings.
It should be put in the modem settings.
