Default does wire thickness, type affect speed of bsnl broadband?

hello

Can someone tell me what kind of wires to use to connect my home pc modem to the splitter?

Does the length and thickness and type of wire and the number of copper wire strands inside the insulation affect the speed??

What is RJ11 cable? Does it have 2 or 4 insulated wires inside it? Which one to use?

What wire should i use to extend the connection to rewire the entire home pc phone network?

Does the number of joints affect the speed?

In short how do i maximise the speed and prevent data loss through the wiring?
Somebody please reply..I could not find it here in the previous posts...
Thanks

Signal loss in cables , depending on frequency of usage is least in gold . wires/conductors/ gauge.Next is Silver, then copper and now aluminium is
extensively used.

You can opt for copper wire cables for phone internal wiring in your house.

Normal name RJ11 having single pair for telephone use.
Normal name RJ45 ( 8 wires) for modem connections.

As the frequency of BB signals is low, loss/attenuation
due to length of cable/s , can be ignored .
But better to use short cables.

For Instance you can connect RJ45 without appreciable loss
to another computer for a distance of 20 or 30 meters ( exact figure I forgot !)

Corroded/rusted/ oxidised/high resistance contacts will increase loss of data.

ok let me say something here
RJ11 is the basic DSL cable which is used to carry DSL signal and can be extended to maximum 10mtrs of length, DSL (RJ11) cable can loose singnal if used more than 10mtrs long
RJ45 is ethernet cable which can be used upto 100mtrs of length if you need to extend the range or length of RJ45 then you can use a switch to do that after 100mtrs and again you can extend it to 100mtrs more.
