Quite possible that the Internet connection is not working, it occured to me twice this month.

You can easily check this out by calling 1500 for information on any server problems.

    I am a home user
    Operting system :xp
I have only one desk top in home

When i switched on my modem ,Notification area Baloon shows "Local area connetion is now conneted"
In my network place it shows:Local area conneted.

at the Local area connetion status window shows
    status:connected
    Duation: 00 : 10 : 16 (increasing)
    Speed:100mbps

Sent:225(this is not increasing, starts when ever i turned on modem & stops)
    Received:198(this isn't increasing,starts when ever i turned on modem&sto ps)

I Saw a Post on thi forum from which I understood I am in PPPoe mode,
    In that post states:
"I have a PPPoe connection (dail-up). whenever I switch on my modem my, it connects to the local network automatically but not to the internet. I have to go to Nework and sharing and manually connect to the net. any way of solving this."

PLease note this statement:I have to go to Nework and sharing and manually connect to the net

Atleast I need that solution ,HOW TO CONNECT INTERNET BY TAKING "NETWORK SHARING " WINDOW

link to that post in this forum given below.Thank You

You can create a shortcut, put it in desktop and connect from there instead of always going to Network Connection. But if you want your modem to connect to internet automatically as you switch it on. Then you need to change your connection type.

BTW. What is your modem manufacturer & model number ?

You are connected using Bridge mode. Need to know your modem model number to help.

Otherwise you can refer this thread.

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...al-method.html (PPPoE Setup of UT300R2U – Manual Method)

BTW. If your data plan is limited one (Home 500. etc), then Bridge mode(dial up) is a good choice. You can create a direct shortcut in the desktop using this option.
