Hi Guys,

I have a bsnl UL 750 plan. I have a adsl type 2 modem.But my internet conection speed is very slow. I tried to download some file from rapid share which is of some 10 MB in size.
But the download speed is just below 1 KB i.e around 600 to 700 bytes that too stops in the middle.But the torrent speed is any where between 20 to 25 kbps.Is there any problem in the network.Am i need to do any thing to do to speed up my downloads.Can any body help me in this?

Hi,
Do a speed test at speedtest.net and post the results here please. Preferably a screenshot.

Rapidshare speed depends on server load. Try their different servers Like Level3, TeliaSonera, etc. Also try using any download manager (though resume not supported in RS it helps with the speed some times).

Try using Download accelerator (DAP) for downloading stuff and see what speed do you get.

try resetting your connection and delete temporary internet files ,turn off unneccesary services that uses internet ,if you feel your pc is up to date turn off automatic update
