I use Bit-torrent. The speed I get is 30-35. BSNL doesn't cap speed.
How much speed you get in direct downloading ?

If you are using dialer to connect each time, then it's Bridge mode. Or if the modem/router automatically connects to internet as you switch it on, then it's pppoe mode.

pppoe mode or Bridge mode will not make any difference in speed for direct downloading. In Bridge mode you don't need to port forward. That's all. I get maximum 36 KB speed in direct downloading.

All torrent clients are the same when it come to speed. The only thing different about them is the features each one provide.

uTorrent is the best. It have all the necessary features and a clean interface. (Use the versions 1.6, 1.7.7 for best performance)

Vuze/Azures is the second best client. You can get all inbuilt features in uTorrent and more using extra plugins. It uses lot of memory to run and may slow down system but if you disable the Vuze interface then it will be fine.

Halite is a basic torrent client with important features in uTorrent (only the important features in uTorrent). It will only take little memory to run than uTorrent.

The others are all the same.

Exclamation Frequent Disconnection in BSNL Broadband

    hi

remesh, if u gettin much download speed in torren then direct downloading, u've to try different DNS

u dont want your browsing interfere with your torrent downloads, u nees to enable Quality of Service and set priority in your router configuration

    ---------

does anybody sufferd with freqent disconnection in BSNL Broadband?
customer care ask me that your DSL indication light (Yellow) blinks or stable?
i told it blinks and they considerd that the probem in wiring, not in network.
isn't that the modem will automatically reset dsl when couldnt get internet?
i'm sure my dsl is ok. where i could use continues internet other times. likemore then 3 or 4 hours offen. does BSNL intentionally disconnect the internet or any? Please share about this guys...

I disagree with archer...the best client is vuze simply because of the vuze network and crazy amount of plugins...utorrent is best for ppl with a slow conn.

The best IMO and easy to use as well

Don't use it coz its bloated and requires JAVA. But have to agree it has many features.

When I posted that, utorrent was the best. Now a days 45% of the peers I see are from Azures/Vuze. 5% from other non popular clients and 50% from utorrent. utorrent is slowly loosing it's popularty to Vuze. But still it's my favorite as there is not need to configure or install plugins for a feature.

Did you read the whole post ?

It also depends on what kind of trackers you use...public or private.
Obviously with private trackers, you'll max out any connection you get in India.

I was a utorrent fan too. And it worked well on private trackers. On public trackers i faced pathetic speeds, hence decided to try Bitcomet. I am amazed, on utorrent i used to get maximum of 50-60 kBps, on Bitcomet i am getting 170-210 kBps. No wonder Bitcomet is banned in some private trackers. (high leeching tendency)

sry i'm a speed reader, somehow i missed that...lol, but yeah, i've been using both for the last couple of months and vuze is shining brighter than Utorrent, but taking away nthing from utorrents massively popular ease of use and compatibility

I am using utorrent and have no such speed problems in Private or Public trackers. If it's well seeded and connection is stable the speed will get upto 220 KBps. Else 80 or 150 Kbps.

I didn't have much speed loss with torrents as much as I had with browsing , torrents were around 190-200 kBps..

Indeed, i am a subscriber from April 2005, not even once i have faced any problems with BSNL. Minor/major hiccups are solved by the friendly NIB techies.
