Rep Power: 2 | My broadband connection drops frequently. My house is a little far from the telephone exchange and there are too many joints in my telephone line. Even for about 300 meters there is coated iron wire. I've complained about it to BSNL but they are very reluctant to help me. My ADSL statistics show that I've attenuation of 67 db and highest SNR i can get is 6 db. My router is UTSTARCOM UT300R2U. Can I improve my signal level by going to a different modem? I've read somewhere that Netgear DG834(G) router provides good stability. If anyone has used any other routers and experinced good SNR ratio please let me know. |

Rep Power: 2 | Yes. I am using a splitter. The telephone is connected only after the splitter. Can anyone tell me if there is a router which can hang on to low SNR. |

Rep Power: 2 | Hello essbebe. Thank you very much. My attenuation came down from 67 db to 63.5 db. When connected SNR i get is 8.4 db which i've never seen with my connection earlier. It was a great help for me. Thanks buddy Last edited by goodyet; 11-25-08 at 10:08 PM. |

| In my connection is SNR (Downstream) 27.0 dB SNR (Upstream) 11.5 dB Line Attentuation(Downstream) 16.5 dB Line Attentuation(Upstream) 6.5 dB modem Nokia-Siemens C2110 Although link is stable (never blinking) but still connection getting disconnected when i try to download any file.First few min downloading is going well but within few min data transfer getting suddenly stop and it get disonnected. This things is often happening when i try to connect through winXp default PPPoE dialer but when i use LanRoad software (which has provied BSNL) to connect my Broadband then connection is more stable.I do not know why this is happening. | Platinum Member | more information needed.line getting disconnected means only data transfer with rapidshare going down or the entire net connection.are you using default explorer downloader i.e.no download manager like flashget,IDM etc? |

would have been helpful, and to avoid duplicate suggestions. Have you tried OPENDNS ? Check In ADSL page in modem mod selected. GDMT will give a lower line speed and stable connection. | |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi, I am having Dataone 500 broadband connection and MT880 modem for last few years. My internet is getting disconnected frequently in past few days and I am not able to findout why. I have an upstream SNR of 22.8dB and downstream SNR of 22dB. I can see that pppoe is frequently going to disconnected state every minute or so.. My phone line is working fine and doesnt have any problems. Can someone suggest what maybe the problem? |

Buy new RJ11 and Rj45 cables and replace, the BSNL junction box also ! Replacing the ADSl splitter may also help ( Not electrical but contact troubles ). 2. You can uncheck the Mod mode adsl2+ if selected. and try GDMT Quote:
