Default does it really take more than 40 days??

my bsnl broadband adsl link has been off for the last 50 days...

i made complaint to 198,1500, then went to broadband fault center, telephone exchange and came to know that there is some cable fault....

now its been 50 days no adsl link.
does it really take so many days to repair the cable faults?

Also there is lot of disturbances (like kharrrrrrrrrrrr sound) in the phone..what could be the reason for it?

the adsl link blinks then goes off every 5-10 mins.....
i think it means there is signal but its weak...is it correct?

It shouldn't take more than a week maximum.

    Default I guess the problem

    hi,
i had the same problem couple of month back.
i guess it was a cable fault due to became old or the cable might be in wet.
so that will create a noise like you said.
the server will have a noise suppressor but i works for a limit.
so when more noise is generated through the cable,it disconnect the connection
so that is the problem of yours.
so first of all complaint about the noise and figure out the problem for the noise....then your internet server will connect automatically.
note:the noise may add in the cable not only from ,near your home it may happen a short distance away. so please check with the neighbour whether the noise is generated in their phone too.

If there noise in the line then your ADSL link will link & it will go off very frequently.

For me the phone was dead for a whole month (April) because the BSNL guys were repearing the cables.

NO it should not take that much time, if digging work is required to replace underground wires then also it should not take more thn 7 days in total.
    Lets take another possible issue
if underground cables and tie pair in exchange both are faulty then also it should not take more thn 10 days.

The time line to provision broadband on line is 14 days (which is not applicable here)

I suggest you to call them again and tell them on serious note that you need your connection back, i am sure you do have a backup connection too hmy:

Now if your Link/DSL/ADSL light is still flashing or there is a disturbance on phone line then please speak to exchange coz your line is not stable and capable of running signal properly.
